Sunil Babu art director dies at the age of 50 due to Cardiac Arrest in Kochi

Art director and Kochi Film Production Manager Suni Babu passes away at the age of 50 due to heart attack.
He was admitted at the Amrita Institute of Medical Science in Kochi three days ago. He was admitted due to swollen legs and after he suffered cardiac arrest and died on January 5 ,Thursday night at 11PM.
He belongs to Pathanamthitta a native of Mallapally. He completed his education in Mysuru Arts College and entered film industry as an assistant to art director Sabu Cyril.
He has worked as an art director in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Bollywood film industry. He also worked in more than 100 films as an art director.
Some of them are Kayankulam Kochunni, Aami, Urumi, Premam, Pazhassi Raja, Thuppaki, Bheeshma Parvam, Maharishi , Oppiri, Ananthabhadram.
He won the best art director award for the movie “ Ananthabhadram ” in Kerala State Film Awards.
He has presented his art talent in various hit films including “ Aim ” in 2004, “ Ghajini ” in 2008, “ Chota Mumbai ” in 2007,” Notebook ” in 2006, “ Ugramm ” in 2014 ,” Panjaa ” in 2011 and many more films.
As a production designer he has produced “ In the name of Buddha ” in 2012, “ Tahaan ” in 2008, “ Rama Vastavaiya ” in 2013, “ Singh is Billing ” in 2015, “ Tutak Tutak Tutiya ” in 2016 ,etc.
He also worked as the art director of bollywood films like M S Dhoni, Ghajini, Lakshya, Special Choubees (24) and many others.
He also produced the film “ I.D ” in 2012. Sunil has worked in TV series “ The Amazing Race ” in 2001 in the art department. He has worked as an assistant art director in the films, including “ Pirate’s Blood ” in 2008, “ Tahalka ” in 1992, “ Ashoka the Great ” in 2001, etc.
Apart from this he has done art direction for the English Film Rose.
He also worked for the upcoming movie of Actor Vijay’s “Varisu”.
Sunil was a son of Tthankappan Nair of Kunnamthanam in Mallappaly and Saraswathy Amma. His wife Prema and daughter Arya Saraswathy.

The Popular Mollywood director took to her official Instagram handle to share condolences to Sunil Babu who has worked in her superhit film ‘Bangalore Days’. Anjali Menon’s Instagram note read, “Utterly shocked to hear of Sunil Babu’s demise. We worked together on Bangalore Days and I have some wonderful memories that I will always hold dear. Rest in peace dear Sunil.”
