Fairies in My Front Yard
I’ll always remember you and what you did for me.

At this point in my life, the paranormal is pretty normal. I can feel that there’s more out there; that there’s depth to us and our purpose here. Once I accepted that, the proof never stopped coming. Yet the closeness of this encounter impressed me.
Thank goodness for the moments we can just be! It’s usually in those moments that wonderful serendipities discover me. I remember my first day living in the forest and I had no idea what I was really doing there other than a telepathic whisper to connect with the land. I sat near a big patch of flowers on my trusty rainbow blanket and emptied my woven bag of its contents: a bottle of moon water, a peanut butter & banana sandwich, 7 crystals, and a book I only read by opening it serendipitously. My first meal of the day before fixing up what would be our home for a year and some change: a gold bus with a goddess painted on the side renovated sprezzataurically into a tiny house. I decide to offer some of my sandwich to the land. The wild meadow seemed like it had missed having people around. I wanted to commune with it. I love to share meals with those I care about most. As a placed a thimble sized piece of bread under a bush and offer the flowers some water. I noticed a rock housing two blue pyramids hidden by foliage but pristine and thriving. I playfully imagined cute tiny fairies with wings going about their day in “pyramid city”. It made me smile. I returned to my blanket and sat in silence for some time.
I heard the rustling of leaves and a faint giggle riding the wind. It felt like a singing bowl soothing, congratulating, and welcoming me. I relaxed my posture, but became more alert, and rested my chin in my hands. I heard the benevolent laughter again but closer and more robust. My attention was drawn to the flowers by which I sat. Marigolds and lavender, lemon balm, roses and more. living in harmony. I scanned the thick bushes for a flower to brighten up my new home. I pressed my hands unto the earth and breathed a deep sigh of surrender and gratitude. I looked up from my grounding gaze to the natural arrangement before me. I zoomed in on the marigolds answering a wordless call. I came across a stem that looked slightly thicker than the others; like a braid. Because of the large group of flowers, I could not see where this unique beauty touched the ground, but I could see the sun play off the peachy petals creating an ethereal iridescence that made my heart sing. I like that Mother Nature really does what she wants when she creates. I recognize all things that are unique as art. “Hello lovely flower…would you like to be picked?”, I said hoping for a sign from the universe. “I pick YOU!” Said the flower as it giggled the angelic mysterious giggle. Aha! Is this real life? Where was it’s voice coming from? I didn’t see a mouth. The braided stem began to lift though I felt no wind. It lifted until the flower’ s petals were hovering above the ground like a royal enchanted gown. The bulb of the flower now the kind face of a soft being with sharp features. The braided stem cascaded down their figure like elegant DNA. Another raises. Their petals worn like a crown. The stem with strong thin roots like two legs. “Welcome home”, said the air speaking on their behalf. “Let us lend you a hand before lift off”. The entire bush came to life like a busy city. This lil guy going this way and that one doing that. The magic bus glowed vigorously like a spaceship ready to take me anywhere I wanted to go. HOLY SH-
I awoke on my rainbow blanket in a different spot. I looked around for my flower friends but I was farther away than I remembered. “That’s ok.” I said to no one in particular and everyone at the same time. “What?!” Said my lover from the distance as he unpacked our belongings into our new beautiful two bed room home. “What?” I said still partially in pyramid city. “I got you something” he said sweetly with an innocence that was all knowing. I leapt up from where I sat satisfied with my interaction. I silently thanked Mother Earth for the gifts she bestows and approached the threshold of my new home on the same land.
I walked as prayer flags and twinkle lights adorned my head for seconds at a time. I opened the door and was greeted by a foragers dream! My Darling had installed a shelf on each wall during my meditation in the meadow and adorned each with Roses, Lavender, Fir needle, Lemon balm, and..marigolds! He greeted me warmly without speaking aloud, just like the nature spirits, and took my hand. We lovingly guided eachother to the table and gazed at the bounty and eachother with vast appreciation. We shared a sweet kiss and stared into these sacred herbs like a campfire. They don’t speak in the way we do but they are so eloquent. I feel so held in their presence. To have their blessing and attention is an honor.
