The machines stared at each other. The male version caressed the head of the female machine.

“Can they….” Senator Davis Kayson asked tentatively.

“Watch,” Dr. Paulina Coxton reminded.

The male machine kissed the female’s neck.

“Wow, what am I watching here?” the senator asked.

“Machine love,” Paulina mentioned.

“What is the point though? They can’t procreate…can they?”

“No, not now. But they know affection and have the ability to show humans how to love. They are capable of war and fighting and calculating but also romance.”

“This was worth the eighty billion dollars from the DoD, now?”

“Every single cent.”
