There once was a girl named Evelyn who lived in a small village. She was a kind and gentle girl, and she loved to spend time outdoors. One day, Evelyn was walking in the forest when she came across an apple tree. The tree was old and gnarled, but it was full of beautiful apples. Evelyn picked an apple and took a bite. It was the most delicious apple she had ever tasted!

Evelyn decided to visit the apple tree every day after that. She would pick an apple and eat it, then gather enough to take home and make a pie. She would climb up into the tree and look for the ripest apples to pick.

One day, Evelyn was up on a branch of the apple tree when she heard a voice. "Hello," said the spokesman.

Evelyn looked down, and she saw a handsome young man standing below her. "Who are you?" asked Evelyn.

"I am the owner of the apple tree," said the man. "I have been waiting for you."

"You have?" asked Evelyn.

"Yes," said the man. "You are the one who I am meant to marry me."

"Marry you?" asked Evelyn. "How do you know?"

“I was told I would marry whoever ate of this horse apple tree and enjoyed them,” the man stated

“Horseapple?!! Evelyn exclaimed.

“Horseapple,” the man agreed.

Evelyn agreed to marry the man; after all, he was better looking than the guys in the village and better dressed.

“My name is Daniel, and I live at Wilmington Manor,” the man told her.

Two weeks later, after the bans were read throughout the town, Evelyn and Daniel were wed, thanks to the fact that she liked horseapples.
