Epic Realms

And Beyond

Epic Realms: Fantasies, Mythologies, Warriors, and Beyond Julieann Carter

She was the keeper of the time

And he was almost out of it

She ticked and tocked around in rhyme

Sharing her magic realm with him

He’d first stumbled onto her

While she was frozen in a moment

A tiny child without fear

And this is how his story went

She was caught in a surprise

Cause humans are so emotional

The fear was welled up in her eyes

When into her spell, he fell

Fearing he meant to do her harm

She conjured a story he’d believe

She was enamored by his charm

As fate and magic began to weave

She explained away her magic clock

And he believed, because she said it

She sat for hours to hear him talk

And when he smiled, she was embarrassed

Never knowing what this was

They’d never felt the spark of love

She watched his face cover with fuzz

For time was flying like a dove

Before she knew what she had done

The years had come and gone, unnoticed

She still appeared forever young

The human form, not built for this

He had aged sixty, plus seven

An old man with sparkle in his eyes

From the days he was eleven

Now an elder, scheduled to die

She disappeared to find him help

And he tells, that he never understood

She’d had been banished from his realm

Never to return to make it good

He died peacefully, they say

Under the tree that they’d met under

Quietly his spirit walked away

Leaving his human form, to wander

This new magical place he passed to

With the special dust she’d held him under

Before he knew it, in she flew

Filling their eyes and hearts with wonder

Together through forever

They controlled the hands of time

Explaining for good, human coined phrases

Like, man oh man, the time sure flies
