Eddie Munson Had the Perfect Character Arc in Stranger Things
He was the best character in Stranger Things.

While Stranger Things is known for creating many great characters, I think there is only one character that really stuck out to me. Eddie Munson, who was introduced in season 4, was hands down the best character added to the series. He was your 'outcast,' a metal head nerd who wasn't afraid to be himself, and also had a very kind heart.
I thought his character was given the perfect character arc, and it hurt like a son of a bitch when Eddie bit the dust during the final episode in season 4. I was one of those fans that was hoping that Eddie would somehow return, in either a flashback or as a vampire working for Vecna (yes, I was lingering so much on this theory in the past), but then I realized that it was best to keep his character dead.
And here are the reasons why Eddie will never be forgotten by the fanbase.
1. Eddie Munson was kind to Chrissy, and tried to cheer her up, right before her death.

I honestly was so disappointed when Chrissy died. The chemistry between both of them was so sweet, and I definitely could see a potential romance developing between them. Unfortunately, Vecna killed Chrissy as part of his plan, and poor Eddie had witnessed her horrific death.
Before she had died, she had come to Eddie, searching for anything to keep her mind off her personal life, that was currently taking a toll on her. Eddie offered to help her, and once he noticed how down she was, he immediately tried to put a smile on her face. It was so heartwarming to watch this scene, and it instantly sold me on Eddie's character.
And if that wasn't enough, he even played his favorite guitar in the Upside Down during the final battle, and played in honor of Chrissy. He never forgot about her, and his care for her never wavered.
2. Eddie didn't give a damn about the awful rumors that people were spreading about him in Hawkins.

This was one of the biggest reasons why Eddie became my favorite character. After the brutal death of Chrissy, people began to think that Eddie had something to do with her death, refusing to acknowledge the strange shit going on in Hawkins. Eddie was now a wanted man, and he was willing to do whatever it took to work together with Dustin and the group, despite learning about the dangerous world of the Upside Down.
He even stole a car for them at some point, and even followed Steve, Robin, and Nancy into the Upside Down. He was scared, but he still had bravery within him.
3. Eddie cared deeply about Dustin, and died saving him.

I loved his bond with Dustin. It felt so genuine, and I loved how he told Dustin to never change, while they were spending time together before one of their few battles against Vecna. It was during this battle, that Eddie unfortunately met his end. Eddie and Dustin were in the Upside Down, and Eddie was forced to stay behind and fight, to protect his friend.
He dies in the arms of Dustin, and this death scene broke me. It was a bittersweet moment, knowing that Eddie, a metalhead that became an unlikely hero, died saving Hawkins, for a small town that believed he was a killer. In a way, he got to be with Chrissy in the end, and man, I felt so bad for Dustin. At least he got to tell his remaining family member about Eddie, letting him know that he was a true hero.
Eddie had the best character arc in Stranger Things, and to me, he will always be the most memorable.
