It was just another day of production planning for Dirty Jobs Host Mike Rowe. He found an electronics assembly plant, My Crow Assembly, to showcase the work performed by microchip assemblers. Unbeknownst to our fearless Host, there was someone planning a show of their own.
On the day of the shoot, everyone was dressed in clean suits, all white and dust free. As the film crew was following the plant owner and Mike through the factory, an alarm began to sound and a deep voice announcing an emergency through the megaphone coming from above: "Contamination leak, contamination leak--please follow contamination leak procedure."
At first, Mike was smiling as if this was no big deal. Then, 2 people, one on each side of Mike grabbed his arms and shuffled him off to a door marked "This is not an Exit" and just the three of them went through the door and the door slammed so hard, it shook the walls.
Back at the Discovery Channel headquarters, a phone rang and then we could see Mike Rowe answering his cell phone. On the line was the kidnappers explaining how My Crow is exchanging Mike Rowe for the largest ransom ever paid.

A Quiet Kind of Ache
The dorm room feels hollow. The grey Boston University lamp on my wooden brown desk is the only source of light in the room, casting long and uneven shadows over the empty twin XL bed across from mine. My roommate left to head home for the weekend. Her absence shouldn’t bother me this much, but somehow, it does. The silence has its own presence in the room. The atmosphere feels heavy and dense without her occasional remarks, rustling, and tapping on the keyboard. The quietness is the unspoken proof that I’m completely alone.
