Death House
Halloween’s nightmare

The date was October 29, 1981, the night was full of mischief and kids were out trick or treating as they do every year. But for some strange reason this year felt different, it felt different to many people who lived in the town of Howell. Everyone’s parent told their kids to be back home before midnight and most kids did except for Rosie. She wanted to stay out and meet up with friends. As time passed, she finally met up with Joanna, Mike, Bobby, Dana, and David. Little did they know they would be in for a hell of a night.
They all had plans to have a little party in the old, abandoned house across from the cemetery by the old Mill factory. Bobby thought it would be fun to be out on the night demons had their chance to roam the earth. So, as they were walking up to the door Rosie heard a foggy voice saying, “leave…. go away” but Rosie didn’t listen to the voice trying to warn her. The house had belonged to a family that had been brutally murdered by the brother who just lost his mind one day and snapped. He then disappeared and the police officers never found him amongst the deceased. As they approached the door, David started kicking breaking down the wood that was sealing the entrance to this domain of evil. Once in they saw spider webs everywhere and rats running across the floor, clearly this house had been completely abandoned since the tragedy. As they proceeded to explore the house, David and Dana stumbled upon a big book and in this book, there were a bunch of jumbled words with pictures attached to them. David thought it would be exciting to read the words in an eerie voice as if he were performing a ritual of some sort not knowing what speaking these words may bring. As David went back to the group he told Bobby about the book, Bobby told David not to mess with the book because his great grandmother told him about the book of the dead. Clearly this was in fact the book of the dead, no doubt about it. You can feel the murky energy from outside of the house. Legend has it that if the words were ever to be spoken that the family would rise again and seek revenge. David did not listen as he proceeded to read the words. Rosie, Dana, and Joanna did not think anything of the book because they believed that only the living can hurt them. David started to read from the book, he noticed that he was standing in front of an old dusty cracked mirror. As he proceeded to finish just the first paragraph, he felt a feeling as if someone were breathing down his neck. He jumped back wiping his neck thinking that Bobby was messing with him, but Bobby was not near him. Rosie and Dana were looking around in the kitchen where the sister had been murdered. They saw old cans of food, the cabinets were torn from the hinges, spiders everywhere, and if that was not it there was a dark shadow that swiftly moved across Rosie’s eyes. When she looked in the corner it looked like the shadow of a man holding a butcher’s knife. Rosie and Dana both scared out of their minds ran into the living room where the rest of the friends were. Joanna and Mike saw how scared they were and asked them, “What’s wrong?” “Are you guys, ok?” Rosie uttered there is a ma… a man in the kitchen with a knife. They all got scared and as they were running to the door, the door was sealed as if it was never broken down. They are now trapped inside the demon house! Then out of nowhere everyone felt spiders crawling on their skin, but after all the screaming there was nothing. Clearly something was not right about this house. The house was dark with extraordinarily tiny light shining through from the street. Mike said, “Maybe there are some candles upstairs.” So, Mike told Dana to walk upstairs with him. As they were walking up the stairs a rat fell from the ceiling scaring Dana half to death, but they continued up. Mike had walked into what used to be old man Jacobs room. When they walked in the door slowly closed behind them and jammed shut. Everyone said that his wife strangled him with a phone cord and hung him in the middle of the room from the ceiling fan. They looked around the room calmly, but they felt as if someone was watching them closely. The closet door was cracked just enough to see inside of it, but it was dark. So, they both started to slowly walk towards the closet door when suddenly the door rips open and a demon like creature snatches them both in one swipe. No one could hear them scream but the others were wondering what was taking so long. David, Joanna, and Bobby all went upstairs to see what was taking so long. Rosie felt safer downstairs, so she stayed close to the door trying to figure out a way to open it. As they were walking upstairs, they felt a breeze flow through their bodies as if someone swiftly walked by them. Bobby thought nothing of it, so they continued up the stairs looking for Mike and Dana. They then walked into each room calling their friends names…Mike!!! Dana!!!! Where are you? This is not funny! Come out now! Then Joanna stumbled upon Mike’s hat in old man Jacobs room. David knew that Mike never takes off his favorite hat. So, they called out for them again but there was no response. Meanwhile Rosemary is downstairs……. alone. She is wishing that she would have listened to her mother and went home early like the rest of the teenagers. Rosemary started to walk towards the mirror to check her make up. She felt as if something was staring at her through the mirror. When she looked closer, she saw what looked like someone crawling in the top corner of the room. Rosie turned around immediately and saw nothing. As for others, they were in the very room that Mike and Dana were taken. They also felt as if someone or something was watching them, Joanna got scared and went back downstairs with Rosie but when she went towards the door it slammed immediately. Suddenly, they hear Mike and Dana’s voice coming from the crack in the closet. Bobby says, “Are you guys, ok?” but there is no response. Joanna felt strange about it, wondering why they have not come out of the closet yet but said nothing about it. So, they walked towards the closet, just as Mike and Dana did. Again, the closet opened with more intensity than before, with the creature swooping them in tearing their flesh piece by piece. Rosie started to cry because she can hear her friends screaming. Out of nowhere she hears Bobby voice, “Don’t be scared Rosie.” She thought Bobby was coming downstairs in the dark shadows. It was coming closer and closer towards her. Rosie said, “What took you guy’s so long?” and as she was finishing her words the creature revealed himself to her and she screamed that I am going to die scream. Rosie was terrified and have never in life would think this is possible. The creature was hideous looking with its little blood shot slanted eyes, white pale skin, sharp claws, and shark like teeth that were filled with blood. Rosie was indeed terrified, she began to close her eyes and started to pray but nothing could save her now. The creature started ripping her piece by piece. The next day Rosie’s mother went looking and searching everywhere for her but there was nothing. Something told her to go the old, abandoned house across the street from the cemetery. And right there is where she found a cross that must have fell off Rosie’s neck at some point during the night. Rosie’s mother told the police, and the other parents were there as well looking for their kids. Cops broke down the wooden door to the old house but found nothing, not a trace of any entry, the kids, nothing. They had been missing for years and even still til this day October 29, 2002, those six curious kids were never found.
