Crossing Experiment

Robert told his wife that he had invented the present-to-future round-trip machine, and he was going to see it in 20 years, and he would be home in about five minutes. After saying that, he went into the basement, which is where he did his scientific experiments.

Now in the future in round-trip machines clothing can be worn on the body, Robert turned a button, and he turned into blue light. After the blue light disappeared, he reappeared in the basement, when his wife walked in. Yes, that's right, it was his wife, although 20 years later, his wife was old and ugly, Robert recognized her at once. His wife was surprised and exasperated to see him and said: You disappeared for 20 years, did you go to the future?

Robert froze for a moment, he was gone for 20 years.

The wife said that day he walked into the basement after the time to eat dinner, he had not come up, which is a bit abnormal, she knew that although he was an unreliable scientist, the meal is always on time. So, she went into the basement. Strange, there was no sign of him in the basement. She thought about it, but she didn't feel him come up from the basement. Perhaps she was too preoccupied in the kitchen to notice. She ate her dinner, left his share warming on the stove, then went into her bedroom, watched TV for a while, and went to bed.

The next morning, she found Robert's dinner still on the stove, and as usual, he was nowhere to be found. For three days in a row, he did not come home, she called the police. Another few days passed, then a few weeks, a few months. The police announced that the man was missing, specifically that he had abandoned his wife and gone missing. She didn't like this statement from the police, but there was nothing she could do about it, it was just the way it was. A few more years passed. He still hadn't come home. She couldn't sit on her hands, she had to find a job, was barely able to make ends meet, and struggling to stay above the poverty line. She hated Robert with a passion. Poverty, resentment, and age, all of which made her look older and older and harder to look at. On this day, 20 years after Robert's disappearance, she was sitting at the kitchen table when she suddenly heard a movement in the basement. She was a little scared but decided to go and see what was going on, only to find that Robert had turned up in the basement, and his appearance hadn't changed at all, as it had 20 years ago.

After hearing his wife's words, Robert wanted to confirm whether he could go back to 20 years ago or not. He turned a button on his clothes again, turned into blue light, the blue light disappeared, he appeared in the basement again, when his wife walked in. Yes, that's right, it was his wife or the wife who was both young and beautiful. His wife said to him: Honey, dinner is ready, go eat. He walked out of the basement with his wife into the dining room. He suddenly thought this is strange, why after 20 years his wife said he had been missing for 20 years. Didn't he come back? He had a terrible thought in his puzzlement: he would kill his wife and then go back 20 years later to see if she was still alive as he had seen her last time. He asked his wife to help him fetch a towel, then he took the towel and violently strangled his wife's neck, strangling her death. Sorry, he said to his wife's corpse, this is a scientific experiment, and besides, I know you will still be alive in 20 years. There was one more thing he didn't say, and that was that he didn't think he was a wimp who had accomplished nothing in his wife's mind.

Robert turned the button and he turned into a blue light again and came to 20 years later again. He was in the basement and heard the footsteps of someone walking into the basement. He thought, "He killed his wife with his own hands, how did she come back to life? The door to the basement opened and instead of his wife, a strange man appeared in the doorway. This man was the new owner of the house, and he was holding a gun in his hand, pulling the trigger as he roared, "You son of a bitch, how dare you break into a house, go to hell!

He realized that the future is fluid, but always related to the choices of the past. He didn't have time to speak his mind or turn the button to go back 20 years before a bullet killed him.
