Crept

More than one pair of eyes

I sat bolt upright, as the thing floated there before my eyes.

“What is it?”

“Ah… ah…” I could not form the words. I could feel my blood run cold, hairs erect, breath taking rapid short gasps. The question was repeated. “It’s a spider!” I eventually blurted out, as I tried to push myself back against the pillow behind me. The spider, unconcerned, began to tiptoe up the bedspread.

“Phooeee! it’s not that scary.”

“No,” I agreed, though I trembled uncontrollably.

With that, the bony jaw stilled, as the skull drifted back behind the curtain.

Just plain creepy, and the skull must not have been ready his attack, I suppose.

  • I understand but don't understand at the same time. Like I know what's going on but I don't understand the situation. I hope that makes sense 😅😅
