Lisa's husband Lawrence is a depressed young cartoonist, but he is optimistic by nature, and the two have been living a quiet life. However, an unexpected kidnapping shatters the peace of life. Lawrence is locked up for a day and a night in an old abandoned mansion and wakes up forgetting everything that happened during the kidnapping. Although Lawrence returns safely, Lisa finds that her husband's temperament has changed drastically, and even the overall style of creating comics has changed. Soon, Lawrence became famous for his new work, but Lisa became increasingly suspicious of the strange husband in front of her. After investigation, she found that the old abandoned house where Lawrence was kept for a day and a night was a murder house, and the man suspected his wife of cheating on him, so he killed her and then committed suicide. Could Lawrence be possessed by an evil spirit? Fear, more horrible things are waiting for Lisa!

I. Night Prisoner Murder House

In May 2012, Lisa and her husband Lawrence moved their home from California to New York, because they thought the bustle of New York might be more conducive to inspiring Lawrence's creativity. Lawrence is a comic book artist who specializes in warm and realistic stories, but his work has not been selling well.

After moving to New York, the young couple had a rather relaxing few weeks, and their new life seemed to be slowly getting underway. However, the unexpected disappearance of Lawrence shatters Lisa's peaceful life.

It was a very ordinary day in June, Lawrence drove his car to the supermarket shopping, but never returned. His car was found by the police still parked in front of the supermarket, but the person was nowhere to be found. 24 hours after Lawrence's disappearance, Lisa received an anonymous letter without a postmark. According to the clues revealed in this letter, the police eventually found Lawrence in a remote abandoned house in the suburbs of New York in a coma.

This strange kidnapping incident in New York set off a lot of waves, and major newspapers are scrambling to report it, but because Lawrence woke up claiming that he did not remember anything, the matter finally had to be closed.

Three days later, Lawrence was released from the hospital and went home. Lisa originally wanted to celebrate her husband's return from the dead, but Lawrence dove into the studio and worked late into the night. This situation continued for almost a week, and Lisa felt more and more wrong. When you think about it, since Lawrence was rescued by the police, it seems to have changed his cheerful personality and become silent. What happened to Lawrence? Lisa was puzzled.

One day, Lisa walked into Lawrence's studio with a freshly brewed coffee, she saw her husband was burying his head in painting, so she gingerly walked behind him and tried to hand him the coffee. But Lawrence suddenly got up and bumped into Lisa's arm, spilling the coffee onto the paper Lawrence had just painted. Lisa apologized while picking up the paper, but her face showed a puzzled expression. It turns out that Lawrence's painting style has always been warm and realistic, but the painting in Lisa's hand is a hard and horrible atmosphere. Before Lisa could think about it, Lawrence's angry voice came to her ears, and he angrily scolded Lisa for not trespassing during her working hours, and made a request to ban her from entering the studio in the future. Looking at the ghastly-looking husband in front of her, Lisa suddenly felt strange.

Lisa felt that something must have happened in the old house, so she looked up some information about the old house on the Internet. The result of the investigation made Lisa shocked, it turned out that it was not an ordinary old abandoned house, but a murderous mansion. 20 years ago, the man of the old house Elson suspected his wife and other men to have an affair, so he strangled his wife with a fishing line, and then drink himself to death. What makes Lisa shudder is that Elson is also a cartoonist, and he drew his wife's death before he committed suicide, making the crime scene look even more bizarre and horrific.

Could it be that Lawrence's strange behavior and this 20-year-old dead Elson are related? This bold speculation made Lisa panic and anxious.

Second, the cartoon killing machine

Three months later, Lisa received a phone call from Lawrence's publisher, who told her that Lawrence's newly released transformative work had been well-received and was gaining popularity on the Internet, and he was ready to sign another two-year contract with Lawrence. Listening to the publisher's exciting words on the phone, Lisa couldn't be happy.

Lawrence's newly released works she had already read on the Internet, he gave up the life comic that he had been insisting on before, and instead catered to the public to draw up a violent comic with the theme of murder, which made her feel too puzzled. Especially the plot and details of the murders in the comic are so vivid that the reader seems to be in the scene, before, the plot has always been Lawrence's weakness, she did not understand how he suddenly has such a high imagination.

Although full of doubts, Lisa also dare not ask Lawrence directly. Since the hospital, the two of them have little communication, Lawrence is buried in the creation of the day, sometimes simply sleeping in the studio. But Lisa noticed that Lawrence often drove out at night in mysterious ways, and once Lisa offered to go with him but was sternly reprimanded by him. Lisa is worried every day, she misses the old Lawrence, but does not know what can be done to bring her former husband back.
