“Oh, so I’m the villain this time?”

It took me 33 minutes after waking up to finally figure out my new identity.

I’ve been reborn countless times, each time waking up in a different setting, playing a different role. I don’t know if I’ve pissed off God or if I’m just stuck in some glitch in this world. When others die, they probably die, but not me—I die only to find myself in another world, becoming someone—or something—else.

I even lost my dog!

The last time I was reborn, I became a monkey demon in an Eastern world, traveling a long way to retrieve some sacred scriptures with a monk, a pig demon, a water demon, and an evil dragon. Back then, I was mighty.

The time before that, I was a farmer in Texas, saving a mother and her daughter during a zombie apocalypse, only to die in a horde of zombies.

And once, I was just a passerby crushed to death by a collapsing wall in an apocalyptic disaster.

After so many reincarnations, where I mostly ended up in positive or insignificant roles, this time, I finally got to experience something a little different.

Some thugs killed my parents in a roadside robbery; my sister died in the aftermath of a battle between a superhero and a villain while saving the world.

Superheroes, why do you never completely eradicate evil? Why do you bring so much harm to ordinary people and yet remain so glorified?

This won’t do. This world needs a bit of cleansing, and you, too, must be eliminated by me. Once both evil and heroes are gone, this world will become a better place.

“Dad, Mom, Sis, I’m heading out,” I said goodbye to the family photo.

Hello, new world, here I come.
