The following is an excerpt from the book Who is Mr. Brown, which gives insight into what was going on before Mr. Brown and Buck meet in Casino Town.
18 days after his bus ride things had not improved in any noticeable way. To be honest it appeared as though things were getting worse. Mr. Brown, despite his large ambitious goals and dreams, found himself in his same apartment. Mr. Brown had $360 dollars in his checking account and decided to head to Casino Town, the local gambling hub, to do what he did best. Mr. Brown was outrageously charismatic and always became quite flirty after a few drinks. He would definitely be considered by many as the life of the party!
Now keep in mind that Casino Town is a very large gambling Town. There are near 33 large casinos as well as 3 to 6 exceptionally large casinos in Casino Town.
The odds, the possibilities, and the statistics are not even worth mentioning. Such a small percentage would be allotted to this encounter that it was nothing short of a miracle! That night exactly 18 days after Mr. Brown’s big epiphany was as if lightning had struck and Mr. Brown’s miracle was here.
Mr. Brown the handsome, whimsical man that he is, finds himself gambling roulette right next to a man named Buck. Buck being a few years younger than Mr. Brown but every bit as cool and carefree instantly befriends Mr. Brown.
That night ended with Mr. Brown and Buck winning THREE different jackpots! Buck had been spending money like he had a vendetta against it, and after the jackpots, he kept giving Mr. Brown obscene amounts of money to gamble!
“Put the whole stack on Black” and “Black is beautiful baby!!!” is what Buck said over and over and over until, Buck and his very rich new best friend Mr. Brown, were asked to leave the establishment.
Mr. Brown and Buck spent the next two weeks together. They spent their time drinking, eating, partying, swimming, and having a good old-fashioned time. Even though chasing women and having fun never gets old, Buck informs Mr. Brown that soon he will return to college.
Mr. Brown gets very mixed feelings about Buck having to go back to school. Mr. Brown had felt that he had made a lifelong friend, but Buck mentioning college reminds Mr. Brown of Buck’s youth, which Mr. Brown no longer has.
What a difference a few years can make, Mr. Brown thinks to himself. Mr. Brown could see clearly that all this drinking and partying would be more attractive on a younger man, the same young man that he USED to be.
At age 26, the idea of age crept into Mr. Brown’s mind more and more. Most things that he had accomplished and was proud was off were beginning to fade. He often wondered if it was already too late for him to reach his lofty goals.
It had become time for Buck Wilde to go back to college and finish his studies.
Mr. Brown’s goodbye to Buck was particularly difficult. Mr. Brown had thought Buck would complete his lifestyle; they were honestly a lot alike.
Mr. Brown could barely remember how long he had been having a ball with Buck, but he always will remember how much fun they had together. Before Buck boarded his plane he stopped, looked back at Mr. Brown, and did one more two-armed fist pump before getting on the plane and disappearing.
At the airport, Mr. Brown decided he did not want to go where he had already been. Mr. Brown had finally discovered what he was looking for all his years going to Casino Town. It was what he had had with Buck; A great time that he would never forget.
Mr. Brown thought that Buck sure did knew how to party. Mr. Brown would even take it as far as to say that Buck could win some sort of party Olympics if there were such a thing.
After Buck had been long gone, Mr. Brown began to sober up, which prompted him to get a drink immediately! At the airport bar, Mr. Brown gives the waitress 600 dollars in cash and tells her to keep the drinks coming. As an airport waitress, she assumed that he had just received a crushing delay status, like most downtrodden travelers. But truthfully Mr. Brown began to drink in an airport with no plans of going anywhere at all. Soon he was feeling great again and drinking the best-mixed drinks the airport had to offer.
Mr. Brown remembered that in addition to partying and debauchery, he and Buck had made quite a killing in Casino Town. Mr. Brown had near 1.2 million dollars in his checking account and was drinking away in the airport. Being such an ambitious man, even after his sixth drink he knew exactly what to do next. Mr. Brown was in conventional terms intelligent, but had he been less of a party animal Mr. Brown would’ve been aware that now was not the time to hatch a business plan. But Mr. Brown was an enormous party animal and decided at that moment while drinks continued to flow to squander his funds by “investing” in his very own company!
In a haste and while drinking Mr. Brown became convinced that he would be the best real estate tycoon ever. As Mr. Brown had more drinks, he spoke louder and more forcefully of his dreams and plans of a real estate take over.
Oddly enough, the more Mr. Brown drank the more he got accomplished! Mr. Brown’s eyes glazed over as he sent emails, transferred funds, made demands, and sent addresses.
When it was all said and done Mr. Brown was passed out on a flight to The Paradiso Islands. Before he passed out, he had registered his business, purchased land, also paid and instructed 5 different individuals to be ready for duty as employees. The question on each person’s mind was “Who Is Mr. Brown”.
