Blaque and Smooth, Part four
My version of Porgy and Bess
Smooth, knew, his past was going to catch up with him, eventually. One thing he didn't want, is Blaque to be affected by his past, or whatever was about to happen. Smooth, knew he had to get control of the situation before the situation got out of hand. Smooth figured that he would go to the clubhouse he used to visit often. He had to let Russell know, that he was out of that life for good. Meanwhile, Blaque went to the downtown library to do some research on the different kinds of schools and the duties of being a physical therapist. Since the accident, Blaque learned to appreciate the doctors and nurses, and other staff members, that helped her with her own therapy. Just as Blaque was walking out the front door of the library, a guy bumped into her. "excuse me, I'm sorry ma'am" that's ok sida Blaque. hey, said the big guy, don't I know you? yea, your Smooths girl, right? yeah, you know Smooth? asked Blaque. Oh yeah, we used to hang out with each other when we were kids, Said the big guy. Tell him Big Mike said hello. Ok, said Blaque. Blaque couldn't wait to get home, so she could tell Smooth about meeting his old friend. "Hello Uncle CJ, is Smooth around?" asked Blaque. No baby, he's not here. When is the last time you spoke with him? asked CJ. earlier this morning, said Blaque. What's wrong Uncle CJ? Is Smooth in trouble? asked Blaque? sweetheart, I need you to get in a cab, and come over, we need to talk, said CJ. yes sir, replied Blaque. I'm on my way. Uncle CJ taghut Smooth how to shoot a pistol when he was much younger, in hopes that he would know how to protect himself and the family he could have in the future. With everything that's going on, in Smooth life, CJ decided it was time to give Blaque a quick lesson on how to handle herself as well. Hey Blaque, I'm glad you are here, said CJ, giving her a big hug. You are scaring me, uncle, what's going on? asked Blaque. Sit down, I have a story to tell you. While CJ was keeping Blaque safe, Smooth said a little prayer, that his uncle taught him, Lord, give me the serenity to accept the things, I can not change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Hey fellas, what's up, said Smooth, as he entered the clubhouse. hey Smooth, said one of the fellas at the front door, holding an AK-forty seven. long time no see. yeah, it has been a while. wheres the boss, asked Smooth, upstairs, he's expecting you. well, I knew, if I sent big mike to wave at your girl, I knew you would be showing up, sooner, than later. Smooth, didn't know about the big mike situation, but he played it off. yeah man, that's what I came to talk to you about. I'm no longer living that kind of life. I don't have any regrets, about my past, but I'm living for the future. my girl, her mom, and my uncle is my future. your issues are with me, let's keep it that way. Said Smooth. well, look at Smooth, trying to grow up. don't you remember? asked Russell. One way in, one way out, said Russell. New day Blood said Smooth. but, ill make a deal with you. I do this one job for you, just once, you are out of my life forever, said Smooth. I knew you still wanted to ride out, said Russell. did you hear me? asked Smooth. this last deal, then I'm out. Okay, said Russell. it's a deal. Blaque told uncle CJ, about the guy that met her at the library. it's worse than I thought said CJ. Listen, I'm going to have to ask you to stay here, with me until I hear from Smooth. I'll call your mom and explain, said CJ. No, I'll call her You don't know my mom.
