Bipartisan
A revelation occurs after an election.
They thought it could never be done. As the nation eyed the election results, the two candidates walked out and held hands. Stunned, the journalists covering the election dropped their jaws. America and the world made a collective gasp. One man laughed. A woman wept.
“In a shocking turn of events, the two options for president have joined forces to make the presidency bipartisan,” Salima Boston pointed out, catching her breath.
“While this has never happened in the history of the United States, we might be able to glean what this would mean for a future presidency. There will be a transition of power for both parties. The presidents will alternate delivering State of the Union addresses. They will show themselves as co-occupants of the White House and share Air Force One together.
“They will overlook only the things that pertain to the government. All consideration of markets will be left to private citizens. The burden of regulations and controls will be eliminated.”
An executive listened at her desk. “This could be the most dangerous possible,” Delana Friedly remarked. “When ever the two parties get together on something radical, it is the American people who hurt the most.”
“I think you’re wrong, Del,” her partner at her firm suggested. He looked at her in the eyes.
“This is going to uplift the entire ideal of the nation. With two presidents, two vice presidents, they’re leaping over the confines of the Constitution.”
“There’s the rub,” Delana remarked.
“This is a good thing. Not only will we be taking a chance with this new development, it will revolutionize the entire political process. It will create a wondrous amount of possibilities for offices under the highest one in the land. This is for the betterment of the country.”
“It’s still rather dangerous, though.”
