Light brings new life

By Allesandra LuadragonPublished 4 years ago 5 min read

This was the beginning of my last day on Earth. When I was younger it was just my sister and I, us against the world. We got older and we grew apart. Today is our birthday, we’re twins. I’m the younger twin by a whole ten minutes, of course I always have to give her hell about this. We always had to hear the story of our miracle birth. The night we were born, it was difficult long ten hours, Mom went into the hospital in the morning she didn’t start pushing until at night My sister Alenna came out first, Mom had to push four times mean while I took longer the doctors scurried around the hospital because they didn’t know what would happen if Mom would die. Dad was soo nervous but kept calm for her. Moms contractions started again and on the eighth she pushed and out I came not making a noise. The doctors started a defribillator after three tries they gave up and pronounced me dead. The doctors put away the equipment and the room was silent, then suddenly the room got really bright and they heard me cry at eight o’clock and eight minutes. I came back to life. My Mother and Father were shocked and cried tears of joy. The doctors were perplexed as to how and why I was alive. This story echoed in my mind as I watched my sister give a presentation on the bio mechanical engineering of reconstructing the mind body and soul or maybe I was not truly listening. When I snapped back to reality everyone was clapping, Alenna said Thank You walked off stage and stood by the door. Everyone got up walked out, while asking her and three other people she was with questions about their work. As the room cleared out, I got up to go greet my sister. As she turned around her face dropped. “What are you doing here?” she said as she placated a smile.

“Well it’s our birthday I thought I would surprise you and take you to dinner” I said

She looked at me with the worried look on her face “We can go to lunch Ximena”

She grabbed her things and we headed out the door, as we walked to her car and drove to our favorite restaurant, Noir Mist our parents loved taking us there as children so many memories. When we arrived we asked to be seated outside. We both got waters and looked over the menu as the waiter left.

“Mom and Dad are worried about you.” Alenna stated

“I know I … just cant bring myself to go home” I said

“Ximena you have to sometime Mom and Dad are concerned, after your meltdown at the police station, being a private investigator probably was not the best decision for you.” Alenna said anxiously

“Look I’ve been getting help talking to professionals” I said trying to conciliate

The waiter was coming with our food. She placed our food in front of us, “Thank You” we said

She smiled “Let me know if you anything else” then walked away. We were about to dig as I looked at my sister watching out into the street. “Do you know this guy behind you ? He seems to be staring at you.”

“What?! Where ?” I said bemused I turned around and seen I tall bald man looking dead at me, eyes were amber and glistening from a distance. The longer I looked at him the more I felt like I knew him, he seemed familiar “No I don’t know him” I said My sister was still watching him. “Oh My Goodness! Oh My Goodness! He is coming across the street!” I turned around to see him charging across the street it looked like he was coming straight for me, so I got up jumped over the gate and ran for the side walk. When I turned around he was behind me. I kept running I ran left and ran towards an alley. It was a dead end, I turned around and he was there. “I don’t know what you want or why you are chasing me but maybe we can talk about this ? Hmm ? Yeah ?” He didn’t say a word he slowly walked toward me and I say this orb of light and spear appeared out of thin air. He threw it and lunged right through my lower abdomen on my left I held it I was pinned against the wall. I felt the blood flowing down my street. My lungs filling with liquid I could not breath. I slowly was dying and felt it when I looked up he was close on me watching but not saying a word. I could not believe this was it, my arms fell to my side I closed my eyes and drifted away.

“When will she wake up?”

“I don’t know”

I slowly opened my eyes and the room was filled with pretty lights everything was made with lights and it looked like gold on the floor. When I looked up two beings were looking at me, one of them had solid amber eyes and the other solid violet eyes, their bodies looked solid but it glistened and glowed. I popped up hastily “Who are you?”

Calm down Zatskhhelie

“Excuse me ? That isn’t my name. Where am I? Who are you? What are you? …. wait a minute did your lips or is that your lips not move?” I asked the both just stared at me then looked at each other. I whipped around and I saw my reflection in the window “AHHHHHHHHH! This …. This isn’t my face!!!! What did you do to me ?!?!?!” I asked

“Your name is Zatskhhelie, you belong in our realm, with us, Tahshakita, Your essence was supposed to be delivered to the great Ataska to be created but a fight arose and you were pushed to the Earth realm inside of a baby” The violet eyed being said “We waited until your vessel was strong to get your essence back home.”

“This sounds insane! This can’t be! I want to go back, My sister will be looking for me!” I looked over at the amber eyed creature “You? YOU WERE THE ONE THAT KILLED ME!” I said pointedly

“Only your flesh, you are still very much alive.” The amber eyed creature said unperturbed.

I laughed in hysteria, as I turned around looked out of the what seemed as a window, the streets were gold, more creatures were out there flying, the sky was purple, black, blue, and green. It was all so beautiful. I just couldn’t believe it, it seemed like a fairy tale.

“This is your home Zatskhhelie”
