Flying high above the clouds. Overwhelmed in the white and blue. Slowing making a descend to our dream come true. Parting the clouds, a rainbow of colors appear. Harris trees the decorative garment of the mountains. Ocean blues of many hues. As the plane drops lower, you can see life moving about. People walking. Cars rolling down the highway. Birds soaring freely without a care in the world.
Taxiing down the landing strip, the plane approaches it assigned gate. Seatbelt lights are turned off. Passengers begin standing and stretching. Derek opens the overhead, retrieving their baggage. Camila smiles saying, “I’m so grateful I get to experience this with you!” He replies, “Me too, my love!” They begin making their way down the aisle, departing the plane, entering the terminal. Crossing the threshold, natives stand await to adorn them with leis. Her smile grows. “I just can’t believe we’re finally here!” “Agreed, but this is only the beginning. After we get the rest of our luggage, the fun can really begin!” “I so can’t wait!”, Camila exclaims.
After claiming their belongings, Derek and Camila migrate towards the exit. They are met by a gentleman holding a sign with their name. “Mr. and Mrs. Harris, welcome to Hawaii! My name is James, and I’ll be taking you to your resort. Madam, may I help you with your bags?” “Yes, yes you may! Babe, when did you set this up?” “That’s not really important, just know that your smile makes it all worth it! The warmth here kind of snuggles you, doesn’t it?” Camila replies, “You’re right, this air is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.”
“I still can’t believe that we are here!” Camila states. With a pleasing smile Derek says, “I know, babe. We’ve been through so much in our relationship. I’m loving how God has carried us through.” “Mr. and Mrs. Harris, we will be pulling up to the entrance shortly.” “Oh my God, Baby, look at this! This is far better that I ever imagined, and we haven’t even made it up to the door yet. LOOK! You can see the ocean super clear from here!” Derek reiterates, “Like I said, it only gets better.” “Ok, we are here. Let me get your doors.” James opens the doors for the Harris. He begins to retrieve their luggage as concierge greets them. “Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Harris, to the Palms Resort! My name is Samantha. The staff and will ensure that all of your needs are met. Akamu (Formed by God, Earth), will take your luggage to your suite as we get you two checked in.” “Thank you! Thank you also Eric you were great!” As he shakes James’ hand, he slips him a hundred-dollar bill. James smiles and heads back to the vehicle. Samantha says, “Follow me to paradise!” Making their way to the front desk, resolving all business. Samantha then leads them to Hawaiian residence.
Derek and Camila open the door to their new place of luxurious dwelling. Both floored by their new atmosphere. As they enter, the first thing they notice is the wall-to-wall windows, that holds the purest ocean view. Both ran, peering out in an extended gaze, seeing sand and the bluest water ahead of them. As they gaze more intently, the see mountains, trees, and people with the freedom to just be. After taking it all in, they began to explore the room. An incredible king size bed on the right wall. Above it, was a breathe taking painting of a jazz club. The painting depicted a man playing a piano, with a woman singing into a microphone. You can see glimpses of an audience, but with clearer view, one can sense the neither the piano player nor singer were focused on the audience. The wall across from the bed held a 70-inch tv screen. Though both knew the screen would never be powered on. Towards the room door was the biggest bathroom they had ever seen in their life. A gigantic soaking tub. A shower built for four, but created for two. Double sinks with a shared mirror. Coming out of the bathroom they see a closed door. Intrigued, they attempt to turn the knob in hopes that it opens. To their surprise it did. Behind the door was a small hallway illuminated by tiny green floor lights leading a private lounging area. The room featured a cozy couch and two wingback chairs. Capped off with double glass balcony door that opens to a more intimate view of ocean.
Their residential exploration had nearly come to its conclusion. Derek explains, “Cam, because we’ve been traveling so long today, I didn’t have much planned for today because I didn’t want to exhaust you. Did you want to rest for a moment, or is there something else you’d like to explore?” “That was a good call. It was a long plane ride, but I don’t want to go to sleep right now. Let’s walk around and see what all the resort has to offer.” “As you wish!”
