Always, You & I
She always believed that it was him; the one she'll grow old with. He was her protector. Her person. Without him, she was nothing. No one. Alone. Without him, she was ordinary.

He stood on the other side of the hotel room, looking out onto the small town through the old, tattered blinds that were barely keeping us hidden in the small room. His body was shifted towards the side, almost as if he was trying to keep on eye on the outdoors and myself at the same time. His gun rested on the old table just inches from his grasp.
"Davey," I softly spoke out, which only caused him to put his finger to his lips before peering back out the window blinds. My eyes glanced over the two wrinkled up trash bags thrown in the corner of the room, fallen over causing a couple items of clothing to spill out. Davey's blood-soaked coat had been thrown on the bed, and his blood-stained sneakers were just chucked under the desk. My eyes followed back up towards him once more. He had one hand carefully placed to peek out the window without drawing much attention, while the other was held up towards me as if to say 'one second, darling'. He was smart to wear black. You couldn't even see the damage that had been done just by looking at him. I wonder if that had been planned ahead of time. I mean, yes, he had gotten some scratches and his hair was ruffled up but... still. He was so smart to wear black. My eyes peered down towards my favorite light pink floral blouse. Or what was my favorite light pink floral blouse. Splashes of red had stained the front of it, as well as the puffy sleeves. My tanned leggings weren't as bad but were still pretty destroyed. God. Why couldn't I have loved black clothing? I spoke out once more, "Davey?"
He put back the blinds before turning around to face me, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I answered a bit too quickly, "It's just-"
"What?" He came closer to me, "You didn't forget anything, did you? I swear to god Cecilia, if I find out you left something behind I will-"
"No." I pleaded to him, "No Davey, I have everything. I do."
"Good." He picked my phone up from the nightstand, staring at it once more before handing it to me, "Did you do it yet?"
"Do what?"
"For fuck's sake, Cecilia. Do I have to spell it out for you?"
"N-No. Davey, I-"
"Reset the password, Cecilia."
"I doubt that'll change anything."
"Reset it. Delete it. Do whatever you can. We have to remove that part of us from our lives. None of that should follow us into our future, Cecilia!"
"It's my life, Davey." I told him, "You can't expect me to just remove my past from-"
"Goddammit, Cecilia!" He rubbed at his temples, "Why the hell would you agree to this if you weren't prepared to follow through!?"
"Davey-" I pleaded to him before he just snatched the phone from my hand, unlocking it and pulling up each app one by one. "Stop." I tried to let out but the sound never reached my lips. Instead, I just watched. Watched as he scrolled through my phone. My apps. My accounts.
"I still don't have a single clue as to why you'd keep this old thing anyway." He threw the phone back on my lap, "I'd have gotten you a new one."
"These have all of my-"
"You don't need those damn memories, Cecilia!" He shouted at me, "That was the whole point! That was why we did this! You don't need the past. You can make new memories... with me. All you need is what's to come. Forget all that shit, Cecilia. You have me. That's all you need."
"I didn't think you'd actually go through with it, Davey." I reached out, curling my fingers in his before pulling him onto the bed in front of me, "If I'm being honest."
"I told you I would." He pushed a strand of hair behind my ear.
"I know." I found cheeks grow quite hot, "Still."
"You asked, I committed." He smiled, "I always stick to my promises."
I smiled at him. He always sticks to his promises. That's for sure.
"Do you regret asking me to do this?" He asked me, catching me off guard.
"What?"
"Do you-" His eyes peered on mine, "Do you regret asking me to cause harm to them? I mean.. they hurt you. He hurt you. He wasn't going to stop; you told me that. She wouldn't have done anything to stop him. Are you having regrets now, Cecilia?"
I thought back for a second. He's right. They wouldn't have stopped. My Stepfather would've continued the harm. My mother would've stayed married to him. Hell. She didn't even say anything when I tried to confide in her about his actions.
"Well?" He asked once more.
I smiled, looking back into his eyes, "No."
"No?" A small smiled formed upon his lips.
"No, Davey." I smiled at him, "I do not have any regrets for what happened." Once spoken, I leaned into him, crashing my lips into his before falling into his arms. He was the one.
The knight in shining armor she was waiting in her tower for. He was the protector she yearned for all these years. It was him. Her person. Her one and only. With him by her side, she'll always be what she always dreamt to be; safe.
