Alien Overboard
Ripar and friends take a nice boat ride that goes wrong
Ripar and the gang were hanging-out at the ranch after seeding the fields and the other chores that had to be done.
“Everything is so much easier since y’all got here. Tomorrow we should take a boat to the ocean and just kick back, listen to some good tunes, drink some beers, eat food, and just do nothing.”
“That’s a great idea John, I can use some help on my tan. What do you think Roj since you’re the captain?” Jody spoke
“You don’t need to work on your tan, Jody; you have a nice color. All of you have been helping us and working so hard, I think a day of relaxation would be good.” Roj answered, giving the team a smile.
Thanks, Ripar that’s just me saying I want to lay out.
“I heard the people of Earth polluted so badly that you have a huge garbage patch in your ocean. That I would sure like to see.”
That would be right up your alley Vocar ya hot nerd. We should do that after we relax a bit.
“I’ve learned nerd can be a good word, so I’ll take it as that.”
Yes, I meant it in a good way sweetie.
The next morning everyone woke up at about 4am to get ready to go on our boat adventure. Jodie put on her bikini and pink shorts and a tank top over it. Vocars pants and shirt changed into a matching bikini. The men put on their bathing suits and a shirt, and the aliens changed into their bathing suits. Jodie brought out the sandwiches she made last night with Mike and put them in a bag.
“We still have to go to the store and get something to go with the sandwiches and beer!” Victor yelled out from the car made of nanobots.
Jodie walked out of the house with a blue thermal bag in her hand. “Hey everybody ready, we got to get out of here!”
Ripar came down the stairs followed by Vocar and Raj to the car.
“A car? What about the ship, it would get us there quicker.”
“Well Mike, I want it to be an authentic trip like humans would do it.” Roj jumped in the back of the cab.
“I wanna drive! It’s like a regular car, right?” Victor looked like a kid in a candy store when he said it. Sure, but watch out, it doesn’t go as slow as your vehicles, so watch your speed and Raj threw him keys.
“Ummm, a car…and keys?” Victor said with a sad face.
“Like I said I want it to look real. I want to know what a human trip is like, so going slow in your car is the way we’ll go.”
“Ok, a human trip you’ll get. Will we have to stop at the gas station too and pay for gas?”
“No, we’ll save your money, pretend you have a full tank.” Ripar smiled.
“Your sense of humor is getting better, Ripar…not yours, Roj and Vocar, we have to work on that a bit.” Jody said, while the humans and even I laughed.
Driving down the road, everyone was quiet, music was playing, and Jody fell asleep on Mike's shoulder while he quietly looked around, then looked at her and kissed her head. Jodie snuggled closer to him and smiled. Vocar was working on a formula to see how big a crystal they would need and what shape it should be. Roj was making a report back home and Ripar looking at the scenery. “Earth is really beautiful, I wonder if Targof was like this, hopefully someday it can be.”
“The traffic was so bad, I’m so glad we don’t have to go through this on Targof. Maybe we should have just flown there, I wanted authentic, but I guess not this authentic.
“You got what you asked for Vocar, an authentic drive to the beach at five miles an hour. Did you have the bots scan any cars? ”
“Yeah, quite a few and some two- and three-wheel vehicles, as well as the long ones with many wheels.
“Motorcycles, trikes and big rig trucks,” Jode answered in a sleepy voice.
“Did I wake you up?”
“No, I was listening and enjoying the air.”
They stopped at a store a couple of miles from the boat launch site and got some coleslaw and potato salad, as well as a chocolate cheesecake. From there they were only a few minutes away. They went to an empty lot, suddenly a boat was connected to a trailer hitch was connected to the truck, they drove to the boat the boat launch and they were off.
The weather was beautiful, not too hot, a perfect day to just do nothing. Jinger Perennial was playing on Spotify, Jody started dancing. She couldn’t get Mike or Victor to dance but she got the aliens grooving along. Suddenly, the deck of the boat became see through and the humans just stopped and stared in amazement at the beautiful sea below, all colors of fish, and plant life. Jody put her arms around Mikes waist and smiled. All of a sudden, a gigantic shark swam under them and when it saw people the massive shark went around the boat a few times then slammed into it, nothing happened. The shark looked stunned then swam off.
Victor with a little chuckle said. “Well, that shark gave up easily.”
“The nanobots emit a certain frequency when they communicate with each other, it doesn’t go far but when the shark hit the boat maybe it was too much for it.”
“Nerd!” Jody blurted out giving Ripar a pat on the back.
The sun was going to set in a few hours, so they decided to go check out the huge garbage patch for Vocar. Ripar looked at the scanner and saw nothing in site. He turned on the cloak, closed off the boat, and it took off, skimming the water, if anyone were there, they’d just see a flash and the boats wake.
“Hang on! Ripar said and the boat just flew into the air. Looking at the screens around them they could see land going by like the superhero The Flash. The boat slowed down then dove into the water, All the colors of the different fish and plant life.
“Look, there’s a whale!” Jodie pointed out like a little kid looking with amazement in her eyes.
Soon they could see it, garbage island. Vocar did some scans. “The patch is massive, mostly plastic. It’s about six hundred square miles.”
Ripar took the boat under the patch, seeing all the plastic above them.
“I’m reading a lot of microplastics further down.” Vocar pointed to the hologram.
The boat ascended to the surface and decloaked, then it transformed into just another boat again.
“We could clean this up in no time, but can’t, Targofian policy. Unless we’re allies with the planet we can’t help.”
The humans nodded or shrugged showing they understood.
“There are three garbage patches between your United States and Japan.” Vocar said pointing at the hologram.
“There is a boat heading our way, it sounds like they have wounded on board. “Ripar said
“We should help, I know you can’t use your technology but at the least we can see if we can do something.” Jodie looked at Roj
“Ok, lets head toward them.”
“I brought a med kit…it’s habit. Mike shrugged
They headed toward the boat; it was a fishing boat with three people visible on the deck. As they came closer, one of the men was waving his hands up in the air. As soon as they got to the boat one of men threw a line over and Mike tied it to the side of their boat.
“Thank God you came, we do not know what happened but one of our friends is sick, can we bring him on board your ship?” The man had an accent, but the translator couldn’t pick out what it was.
“Sure, but we don’t have that can treat him. Did you call for medical help? Coast Guard maybe?”
They took the man on board and set him on the deck.
Suddenly one the men took guns out from their backs
“Do not move, we have command of this ship now. If you listen, you might make it out alive but If you try anything you will definitely be shot.” One of the men said while the one on the ground got up and took a gun from one of his comrades.
“You really don’t...”
“Shut up and do what you are told.”
Roj telepathically said to Vocar and Ripar “We have to keep our human friend safe; we’ll play along until I see an opening.”
Both agreed.
Ripar whispered to the humans everything is ok.
Jodie said, “We’re not worried.” With a little smirk.
“What are you smiling at, if you are thinking about being a hero, don’t.” One of the pirates said shooting his gun in the air.
“Men, you come over here. Bojo, Siro take the pretty women downstairs, they should get us a good price.”
Just then Roj made a move toward the men and one shot him right in the chest. Blood came out of him, and he appeared dead. The man he tried to shoot threw his body off the boat.
“Now you see what will happen if you try anything, you will die just like your friend. Go, take the women.”
Each men took one women by the arm and pulled them in front of them “Get down there, if you’re good maybe I’ll have fun with you.” Bojo said with a smile and a laugh.
“You’re going to be sorry.” Jodie said
“Shut up you American bitch whore.”
Siro started tying Vocar up, she saw her opening, she broke out of the knot Siro was tying and hit him hard, then quickly got the gun from Bojo and took him down as well.
“What’s going on down there.” The leader said
“One of the women tried to get smart, she’s down now.” Vocar said in Bojo’s voice.
“The two here are out.”
Ripar said “I’m on their boat, I took care of the two on the deck, I’m heading in.
Ripar shrunk himself to the size of an ant and walked between the two men with guns above him. Before they could even say a word two hands came out of nowhere grabbing each of them around the neck and snapping them like a twig. As became normal size again another man walked in from the engine room. Before Ripar could react, his gun went off hitting him in the shoulder, but this time nothing happened. The guy stunned tried to take another shot, but Ripar took the gun and bent it then knocked out the guy, sending his body flying back onto a couch.
On the alien boat Roj ran forward and grabbed the guns out of the men’s hands, Vocar came up from below and took one of the men and broke his back while Roj picked up his and threw him on the ground. Roj and Vocar went to the pirate boat to help Ripar, but he had the other three men taken out already.
“Good job Ripar, I’m impressed, Elder Mon will be too.”
“Thank you, Captain, that means a lot…Does this mean you won’t tell Elder Mon what I did?”
“We can keep it between us this time. I see your potential, and Elder Mon does too that’s why he’s keeps you on, you just have to learn to go by the rules…at least the more important ones. Roj said with a smile
They took the pirates from their boat and put them on their ship, then disconnected the rope and took off.
“Well, that was an adventure, now what?” Jodie laughed
“We go to dinner then something with chocolate for dessert?”
“Ripar, you’re what we call a chocolate addict.”
He just laughed.
As they got closer to the shore the boat cloaked and when they got to the shore, the boat turned into a car again, this time an Equinox.
“This is much better.” Jodie stretched out.
“It’s no Ferrari.” Mike said
Everyone laughed.
