Code is everywhere. Hatfield could speak a language the machine had not learned. It went haywire without damaging itself or anything in the room. Its movements looked like an animal responding to a wound and then…it stopped.

The power remained engaged and the distinct, small hum of the motors powering its joints slowly came to a halt. A window of time to disassemble the screen and look at the circuitry presented itself to Hatfield.
