Joe’s call to his old friend sounded pretty innocuous, like old Air Force Academy buddies getting a chance to reunite – “Hey Cal, Joe Deire! How the hell are ya Bud? Hey, I’m just checking to see if you peeped the Q3 schedule? Looks like we’re in the cockpit together on One. Aye, I look forward to flying the friendly skies with my friend.”

Joe knew the protocol. He knew he wasn’t supposed to make pre-flight contact with members of the AF1 flight crew. But, Joe Diere knew the moment Cal and Frank read the new flight schedules, they would instantly be in Go Mode to execute “The Plan”. Since 2002, “The Plan” was the codename for their revenge scheme 40 years in the making. As orphaned sons of secret service agents turned secret service victims, Frank, Joe, and Cal were finally getting their chance to make them all pay.

Twenty-one years of intentionality, holding himself to ridiculously high standards, and never once losing focus were finally paying rewards. Joe’s orders to pilot Air Force One with Cal as his co-pilot and Frank in the Nightwatch meant their plans were officially “green”.

THEY WERE ABOUT TO STEAL AIR FORCE ONE.
