Act Talented
A Short Fiction Experiment Inspired By Monmouth Park August 9-11 TB Card Races 'One, Two, Three"

Midday skies darken, and the afternoon track labeled fast projected mud flying during the next couple hours, challenging any show imagination, conjured up by the designated local vivid artiste.
“Where is Lady Marleen? I need her for a second to have a conversation,” A royal creative mind questioned.
“Dear Sir, she is a maiden with a special weight,” the Irishman’s side kick warned, “what are you expecting from talent?”
“My loyal friend, I am Mildoon and I am a winner,” the lucky charm answered, “I am also fending off these rocky seas trying desperately avoiding the out of the money plague.”
“I told you not to give Lady Marleen that starter allowance,” the assistant reminded, “that will not encourage her to come back and perform again. She will go off and be a star, changing her name, over and over,”
“It was a simple souvenir,” Mildoon responded acknowledging the financial payment, “I thought she was a winner.”
“Boy, that is a long shot thought,” the colleague mentioned under his breath.
“Cause I said she should be in the show, the producers gave her an advance and look what happen,” Mildoon explained hearing the phone ring.
“It’s Abby the Bulldog, and she wants information about the out of the money issue,”
“Give me that,” Mildoon retrieved the communication device, “she told me arriving at this place her name was Marion Grace.”
Hearing laughter Mildoon confronted the reporter, “Abby what is so funny?”
“That is the stage name Lady Marleen selected? Marrying Grace,”
“Exactly,” Mildoon clarified, “Marion Grace.”
Hanging up Abby headed back into the work area, “the show story is wild Jaime,” she reported to cubicle one, “It is a giant Jones, a winner,” she followed up, notifying the next scribbler in line.
Leaving the office, stepping out, the Editor confronted Abby the Bulldog, “wait a second! Who is changing the karma around here?”
“Lady Marleen aka Marrying Grace is the maiden with special weight,” Abby smirked.
“How can Lady Marleen be a maiden with special weight if she is Marrying Grace?” The Editor put the cigar back in his mouth.
“Mildoon, runnin the numbers, out of the money,” Abbey explained, “that is how.”
End Day One
Winning the stately order from the journalism decision makers, Abby accepted the fast-track assignment, ‘see what the maiden was claiming’. Arriving at the theatrical place she took a second listening to a rehearsal featuring PJ’s Song.
“You know its Sir Palace Prince, who is producing this show,” a voice came up from behind.
“Nimmo,” Abby exclaimed, “what are you doing here?”
“Well, I being out of the money, this was my sanctuary refuge,” Nimmo explained.
On the fast track for only a couple minutes, Abby already found a good story to spin back at work.
“What happened?” She started to reach for a notebook.
“Had one violent affair,” Nimmo mentioned, “and came to this place.”
“With whom?”
“Le Sierva C, when she was out of the money,”
“You were fooling around with a C level servant,”
“Honestly, she was in a show, and many said she can scat,”
“And she did,” Nimmo mentioned, “went looking for water and the next thing we heard, she was a winner.”
“Well, Nimmo, it was your influence,” Abby concluded.
“I have not left my post command, in the show on the fast track,” Nimmo clarified watching a maiden with special weight approach the microphone.
“Pretty little lass, are you out of the money?” The occupant on stage fielded the question.
“Well, yes,” the innocent talent replied, “I am out of the money but, I can sing.”
Buying into her story telling, they proceeded with the audition session, “you know Bulldog Abby, I also see the truth and that one Lacanto is going to be a winner,” Nimmo predicted observing the journalist finding another reason to stay overnight and explain what was going on in the entertainment kingdom.
End Day Two
“Could you play misty for me?” Requested the turning profit contingent, “I know it will be a winner.”
“Yes, I can,” the talent answered, “and since I am out of the money, I will keep it sweet.”
Hearing the point the observers commentated, “Miss Ellamy is a nice fit for this place.”
“I know, the maiden with special weight is on the fast track, and this show,” the business attire crew paused, “it will be wud hoo.”
Later that evening using a flag song flyin setting Miss Ellamy joined forces with another single singer, Miss Neo and critics called the production a winner.”
Headlines claiming the duet made them “Love Like Crazy” decorated the venue, bringing in more customers, making it a fast-track establishment place. Over at the anchor restaurant serving the show Rosemary Potatoes Café, they were selling buy one get another free spuds to celebrate the pair’s growing success. Bars also profited with hot wings special, calling it gins and tins, patrons who were out of the money could take food home after a nightcap.
Defending their popular firm turf Miss Neo and Miss Ellamy saw Eddie the Great invade the place, showing his deceptive phantom smile. “These two can be a fast fixer and winners if,” he plotted.
Wanting incredible revenge against the man and having nothing at stake, the two confronted Eddie the Great. Presenting a luring and teasing style the duo made the power player drop his guard, and when his emotions were vulnerable, they attacked by ‘just saying no,’ staying put safely playing the home grounds, turning Eddie the Great’s plans French fried and mashed.
Word got back to Mildoon who sent flowers attaching a note that read, “Lady Marleen, thank you for Marion Grace, and Miss Ellamy, as for Miss Neo, you are a couple of independent characters gracefully married, building a lyrical case.”
