Across the Ocean Into her Heart

When Love Knows No Distance

By Bilja C.Published 5 months ago 1 min read

Marko had crossed the ocean just to see Ana. His suitcase was filled with little things that reminded him of her, and among them was a small box — inside, a simple ring. It wasn’t expensive, nor an engagement ring, but to him it carried a message no words could ever fully express.

On the very first day, as soon as they reached her home, they sat together on the terrace, sipping coffee. Without grand speeches, he opened the box and gently slid the ring onto her finger. They wrapped themselves in each other’s arms, the scent of coffee mingling with his cologne, while the wind whispered through the quiet — a silence that spoke more than a thousand words ever could.

From that moment on, Ana saw the ring differently. It wasn’t a symbol of gold or diamonds, but of love made real. Every time she looked at it, a smile would touch her lips, and warmth would bloom in her heart.

They spent unforgettable days together — long walks late into the night, conversations that lasted until morning, kisses carrying the scent of rain. But the day of goodbye arrived too soon. At the airport, they held each other tightly, as if their embrace could stop time. Ana’s heart ached; she didn’t want a long-distance relationship, no matter how deeply she loved him.

Weeks later, during a video call, Marko whispered the words that changed everything:

“Ana… come to me. I don’t want you to be the story I lost.”

And so they decided. She would cross the ocean — this time, not for a few days, but to start a life together. The ring on her finger still shone, but now it carried something more: the promise of a new chapter they would write side by side, every single day.
