Hey. I’ve just got a set of documents that could turn all of this around for you. It says here that you had already gone to bed. It says that you couldn’t have killed Naomi as she had been up by herself.

She secretly snuck in a towel from the bathroom. Or someone gave her one. Whatever the case, she had strangled herself to make it appear as if you choked her to death. Thank God you’re a snorer. The next woman in the next cell overheard you were snoring away. This may not seem trivial, but bear with me.

I have two eyewitnesses who can vouch for the fact that they saw Naomi with the towel. If she had gotten one from the rain room, then she would have had to go past the guards. There’s that Goro guy. I remember you talking about him. Anyway, he must have received a favor from her and he just let her slip past him. None of the other inmates, except the two, noticed that she had the towel in tow.

That’s what’s going to be our case. You say you were catching all kinds of zzz’s and that you couldn’t have killed her.

Now, for the other murder, you obviously didn’t commit this crime as the woman had bouts of depression and showed signs she might kill herself. These aren’t Academy Murders at all. They’re clear cut instances of suicide.

You’re being abused as the scapegoat because of your sterling record. They want to sling mud on you. They want to besmirch your good name and take away from your merit.

I’m gathering enough information to contend with the opposing side. This new DA is already a rockstar even though he’s had only two cases. He’s got the flair for the dramatic and slick hair and three piece suits. You know the type. He may be all flash but we’ve got the cards stacked in our favor, Kim.

Once we display that it was impossible for you to commit any of these crimes, All we need is the truth and facts and we’re going to rule that courtroom. There’s nothing that will stop actual evidence as it is shown. It’s sad that you even have to go through this. Devastating, really. But that doesn’t mean you give up. Use your esprit de corps to cope with these days locked up behind the wall. I know you’re playing Go. That’s good. Keep that up so your mind doesn't rot for the time you already served.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m looking for a full acquittal. I want you flying out of that court like you’ve got wings on your back. So the charges will forever be linked to your bio. You can write books and have a TV show all detailing your military and law enforcement careers and the fact you were wrongfully accused of a double murder. There’re plenty of avenues to explore. You can probably think of more than I.

I just want you to know that my team and I are working tirelessly to put together a picture of you being not guilty. That’s the ruling principle here. It will, however, come down to a jury of your peers. We must take into account the idea that they are being sequestered which may delay the trial. Fret not, though. All of the ways we can find in order to bring you home, we will deliver. I don’t give a damn about the prosecution. They’ve got fallacies and inaccuracies hanging on a string. Nothing they can say can provide for credible proof that you had anything to do with these young women’s deaths.

So, I say stay strong there. Don’t succumb to the bitterness and hopelessness that so many in your position have fallen into, sadly. Reflect on the fact you’re a Marine and decorated officer and detective. Remember that you’re a woman of good standing. Those bars can’t break your soul.
