Sweat beads populated at her temples. Saliva collected at the corners of her mouth and her tongue felt dry.

“If there was ever a time to speak on the fact that I had anything to do with Naomi’s death it is now. It was me, not Kim.”

Shutterbugs in the courtroom snapped like firecrackers.

“I can state the whole thing. It started in the cleaning closet. I had some bleach and ammonia soaking a towel. Since Kim also worked with the chemicals, she had access to the same amount of materials as I.” Dina’s face darkened even more. “I knew that she was in an adversarial role with Naomi. I wanted to do her a favor. If that meant dispatching her from this world, so be it. So I took the towel and wrappedit around her face and neck. I then replaced it with some clean towels. The next thing I knew I was placing more agent on Kim without mixing. I knew the medical examiner would at least trace the bleach to Kim. In some strange way I wanted to save her from Naomi all to myself. I wanted to be her ire and source of frustration. It didn’t matter to me whether r not I had an inkling of knowing Kim for just a few weeks. I adored her police work and the fact she knew what she was doing at all times. Yes, it may have seen improbable that I would kill her or that she would murder. I did it. And I’d probably do it again. Just consider all of Kim’s trac record. She cleaned up the streets of Wilmington, Delaware and then wanted to be in the FBI. As the oldest member of the group, she looked us over and mad sure our ponytails and shoelaces were on tight. Kim did all of that. She brought an heir of dignity to this outfit. Her command of respect was unparalleled. I actually liked Naomi. She had a spirit about her that made you say, ‘she’s going to make it.’ Well, I didn’t want Kim to be an antagonist against Naomi. I guess this is what is meant by the slogan ‘wanting someone in the worst way.’ I took a life and made it seem as if an upstanding, decorated cop had actually committed homicide. I know this is the end of me, but I have blemished the record of a woman I adore. In every article, her biography, her obituary will have to include this passage in her life. I am responsible for this action and I now know that it was all my fault in knowing that a cleaning lady can commit something so atrocious. It is better that I say this now as Kim still has one other trial to contend with, now. I still feel that it is my fault that all of this started and I think there may be a copycat in the next case. That, however, is not for me to decide.”

The press corps kept snapping. Reporters made a din of questions as the cleaning lady was handcuffed and carted of to the squad car.

Kim’s face turned to stone. Her movememnts, every action seemed loose and lithe. She appeared to be like a sophisticated robot. She kept together all her rage and disappointment and inabilty to speak against the cleaning lady. Her solemn silence created a cocoon around her. With all of the press continuing to video and record audio of the aftermath, Only the cameras captured her Stoic stance and she remained inaudible. That was just her nature.
