A Time That Was Just Not Fair

Time doesn't wait for anyone

By Subhan WildePublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Life is full of surprises, some good and some not so good. We all have our share of experiences, both pleasant and unpleasant. However, there are times in life when we feel that we have been dealt with an unfair hand. It is during these times that we feel helpless and powerless, and everything seems to be against us. One such time in my life was just not fair.

It was a bright and sunny day, and I was looking forward to spending the day with my family. We had planned a picnic in the park, and everyone was excited. We had packed our bags, brought the food, and were ready to leave. However, as we were about to leave, I received a call that changed everything.

It was my boss on the other end of the line, informing me that I had been let go from my job. I was shocked and devastated. I had been working at that company for five years and had given my all to the job. I had never expected to be fired, especially not over the phone.

I sat there, staring at the phone, unable to process what had just happened. How could this happen to me? I had done nothing wrong. I was a hard worker and always went above and beyond my duties. But it seemed that it was not enough. The company had decided to downsize, and I was one of the unfortunate ones who had to go.

I tried to hold back my tears as I made my way to the park. I did not want to ruin the day for everyone, but it was hard to keep it together. My mind was racing with thoughts of what I was going to do next. How was I going to pay my bills? What was I going to tell my family? How would I survive without a job?

As we reached the park, I tried my best to put on a brave face and enjoy the day with my family. But it was hard to shake off the feeling of injustice. Why me? What did I do to deserve this? These questions kept lingering in my mind, and I felt as if life had been unfair to me.

Days turned into weeks, and I struggled to find a new job. I sent out countless resumes, went to job interviews, but nothing seemed to work out. It was as if the universe was against me. I watched as my savings dwindled, and bills piled up. The stress was becoming unbearable, and I felt as if I was drowning.

But then something miraculous happened. A friend of mine, who I had not spoken to in years, reached out to me. She had heard about my situation and wanted to help. She offered me a job at her company, and it was like a ray of sunshine on a dark day. I could not believe my luck.

As I started working at the new company, I realized that life had not been unfair to me. It had simply given me a new opportunity. It had pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me realize that I was capable of so much more. I had learned new skills, met new people, and had a fresh start.

Looking back, I realized that the time when I was let go from my job was not just a dark period in my life but a time that taught me some valuable lessons. It taught me to be resilient, to never give up, and to always look for the silver lining. It taught me that life is not always fair, but it is up to us to make the best of what we are given.

In conclusion, life is full of ups and downs, and sometimes we are dealt with an unfair hand. But it is during these times that we grow the most. We learn to be strong, to be resilient, and to never
