A long time ago, there was a big apple tree. A little boy went to a tree every day. He climbed up to pick apples and eat them. He slept under the shade. He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.
Then the little boy grew up and stopped coming to play every day. One day he came back to the tree and looked very sad. The tree wanted to play with him. The boy said, "No, I am not old enough to play with you anymore. I want toys, but I have no money to buy them." "I am sorry, but I have no money," said the tree. "Pick all my fruit and sell it. You will have money." The boy was so excited that he picked all the apples and left happily. Then the boy did not come for a long time. The tree was sad.
One day, the boy finally came and the tree was so excited that he asked him to play with him. I have to work for my family. We need a house. Can you help us?" "I don't have a house," said the tree, "but you can cut off all my branches and use them to build your house." So the boy cut all the branches and happily carried them away to build a house. The tree was so happy to see the boy happy. From then on, the boy stopped coming. The tree was lonely and sad again.
One summer, the boy came back. The tree was so happy, "Come on! Come and play with me, child." But the boy said, "I am in a bad mood. I am getting old every day. I want to go sailing to relax myself. The apple tree said, "Cut off my trunk and use it to make a boat." So the boy cut her trunk, built a boat, and sailed away, never coming back for a long time. The tree was so happy... But it's not true
When the boy finally came back, the tree said, "I'm sorry, son, but I have nothing to give you. I have no more apples." The boy said, "My teeth have fallen out. I can't eat the apple."
"I have no more trunk for you to climb up," said the tree.
"I am too old to climb," said the boy.
"I have nothing more to give... All that's left is my dead roots, "the tree said with tears.
The boy said, "I'm tired now after all these years and I don't want anything but a place to rest."
"Good! Old roots are the best place to sit and rest. Come on, sit and rest with me!" The boy sat down and the tree wept with joy...
This is the story of each of us. This tree is our parents. When we were young, we liked to play with mom and dad... When we grow up, we leave them and only come back to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there, doing everything they can to make you happy. You may think the boy is cruel to the tree, but that's how we all treat our parents.
Take some time out during the day to listen to yourself. You may want to use this quiet time to meditate or pray. However you use this time, the key is to tune out all the noise around you and focus on what's deep inside you. Breathing deeply during quiet time can also help you focus. I know it's hard to find quiet time on a particularly busy day, but it's important -- even if it's only 10 minutes a day, slip away and grab it. Quiet time can really make a difference in your life. It forces you to listen to God speak to your heart and reminds you of His perfect love for you.
Be honest with yourself and take action. Actions speak louder than words. What do your actions say about you? If you say you love your job, but your actions say otherwise, which do you think is more persuasive -- your words or your actions? On the other hand, if you say you're not good at a job, but your actions say otherwise, that's also important. What do you do with your ability? The choices you can make in your life by being honest with yourself are based on your past actions, and your future actions will be based on facts, not just what you say.
Despite what your subconscious tells you, you can have love without end. The key is to love yourself unconditionally first.
