Edward was the kingdom's youngest knight. He was still a young lad, but he was so bold and intelligent that he had defeated all of his foes without even having to fight them.

He came found a little cave while cycling through the mountains one day. When he entered, he discovered it to be gigantic, with an enormous castle within, so large that he thought the mountain couldn't possibly be real, and that it must have been a facade to hide the castle.

As he got closer to the castle, Edward heard voices. He went over the castle walls without hesitation, following the voices.

"Anybody here?" he inquired.

"Help! Help us!" exclaimed a voice from within, "we've been locked in here for years, serving the castle dragon."

"Dragon?" Edward wondered as a gigantic flying flame threatened to consume him. "It's all right, Dragon," Edward whispered quietly as he whirled around to face the terrifying dragon. "I forgive you for what you just did. You probably didn't realize it was me."

Words like this astonished the dragon much. He never anticipated someone to challenge him, let alone in such a bold manner.

"Dwarf, get ready to fight! I couldn't care less who you are! "The dragon shouted.

"Please wait a moment. It's evident that you have no idea who I am. I am the Great Crystal Sword's guardian! "Edward, who, before fighting, was capable of making up anything, continued. "You well know that the sword has killed dozens of ogres and dragons, and that if I unsheathe it, it will fly straight into your neck and kill you."

The dragon had never heard of such a weapon before, and he was terrified. He didn't appreciate the sound of something slicing his throat. Edward continued to speak.

"In any event, I'd like to give you the opportunity to fight me. Let us take a trip to the other side of the globe. There's a snow-covered peak over there, with a massive tower atop it. There's a gilded cage at the top of the tower where a magician created this sword. The sword loses all of its potency there. I'll be there for five days, but only if you need me."

Edward vanished into a cloud of dust after saying that. The dragon assumed Edward had done something magical, but all he had done was hide in the woods. The dragon rapidly flew out of the cave, across the planet, in a voyage that lasted more than a month, in order to confront that impudent knight.

When Edward was certain that the dragon was far away, he emerged from his hiding place, entered the castle, and released all of the hostages. Some had been missing for a long time, and when they were found, everyone complimented Edward's intelligence.

What about the dragon, though? Can you believe there was a snowy mountain on the opposite side of the earth with a large tower on top and a gold cage on top of that?

Yes, the dragon was crammed into the cage and unable to escape; and there he remains, hoping that someone wise will come along and rescue him one day...
