A Mother's Sacrifice

Once upon a time, there was a young man who harbored deep hatred towards his mother.

He despised her because he believed she brought him immense shame.

She worked tirelessly as a school cook to support their humble family.

One day, when he was in high school, she came to check on his studies.

He felt really bad... Why would she do this to him?

He ignored her and looked at her with strong anger.

The next day, his classmates made fun of him, saying, "Your mom has only one eye."

He wanted to disappear and wished his mom would go away forever!

When he got home, he confronted her and said, "You embarrass me so much. Why don't you just go away and never come back?"

But she didn't say anything.

He didn't feel sorry because he was filled with anger. He didn't care about her feelings.

He wanted to leave that place.

He studied hard and got a scholarship to go to Singapore. He did really well in his studies, fell in love, got married, bought a house... He had children and lived happily with his family.

One day, his mother came to visit him...

After many years of not seeing each other, she wanted to meet her grandchildren. As she stood at the door, his children started laughing when they saw her.

He shouted at her, "How dare you come here and scare my children? Get out right now!"

She calmly said, "I'm sorry. I must have come to the wrong place," and then she disappeared...

Time went by, and he got a letter from his old school, inviting him to a special gathering.

He lied to his wife, saying it was because of work, and went to the gathering.

Out of curiosity, he went to the house where they used to live...

The neighbors told him that his mother had passed away.

He felt a rush of emotions, but he didn't shed a tear. They gave him a letter she had written in case she ever came back.

"My dear son, I have thought of you so much... I'm so sorry for coming to your house. I never meant to scare your children.

I was so happy to hear that you were going to the reunion, but I couldn't get out of bed to come and give you a hug. I am truly sorry for all the times I made you feel ashamed...

There's something I could never tell you before. When you were little, you had an accident and lost an eye. I didn't want you to grow up feeling burdened by it, so my son, I gave you my eye. It made me so proud and happy. Do you know why?

Because now you see the world through me!!

As he read those words, he couldn't hold back his tears any longer. The weight of regret and the realization of his mother's selfless sacrifice crushed his heart.

He wished more than anything that he could turn back time and show his mother the love and gratitude she deserved.

In his grief, he vowed to honor her memory and carry her love with him forever.

But it was too late. The chance to make amends, to apologize, and to tell her how much he loved her had slipped away forever.

He was left with a profound sense of loss and the knowledge that he could never make up for the pain he had caused.
