A Horror

Haunted House

By Muhammad Umair Published 3 years ago 3 min read

As I approached the old abandoned mansion on the outskirts of town, my heart began to race. The dilapidated structure loomed over me, its broken windows and weathered exterior giving off an eerie aura. Despite the warning signs, I couldn't resist the temptation to explore the haunted mansion. It was rumored to be cursed, haunted by the ghosts of its former residents, and I was determined to find out if the stories were true.

As I stepped inside, a chill ran down my spine. The air was thick with an unsettling stillness, broken only by the sound of my footsteps on the dusty floorboards. I could feel a presence lurking in the shadows, watching my every move. It was as if the walls themselves were alive, and they were whispering secrets that only the mansion's ghosts knew.

Suddenly, a gust of wind blew through the broken windows, causing the doors to slam shut. I was trapped inside, alone with whatever horrors lay within the mansion's walls. I tried to push the doors open, but they wouldn't budge. Panic set in as I realized that I was truly stuck inside the haunted mansion.

As I searched for a way out, I stumbled upon a room that was unlike any of the others. It was a bedroom, adorned with ancient furnishings and a four-poster bed in the center of the room. As I approached the bed, I noticed a strange figure lying in it.

The figure was a woman, but her face was shrouded in darkness. I could hear her breathing, slow and labored, as if she were struggling to survive. I reached out to touch her, but my hand passed through her body, as if she were not of this world.

Suddenly, the woman's eyes snapped open, revealing two glowing orbs that pierced through the darkness. Her mouth opened, but instead of words, a chilling laugh escaped from her lips. I stumbled backwards, my heart pounding in my chest.

I ran from the room, desperate to escape the horrors that lurked within the haunted mansion. But with each step I took, the mansion seemed to grow larger, its corridors twisting and turning in impossible ways. It was as if the mansion was alive, and it was leading me down a path of terror.

I could feel the presence of the woman following me, her laughter echoing through the halls. I turned a corner and found myself in a room filled with mirrors. As I looked into the mirrors, I saw the woman's face staring back at me from every angle, her glowing eyes burning into my soul.

Suddenly, the mirrors shattered, and I found myself falling through a void of darkness. I could feel the woman's hands reaching out to grab me, pulling me down into the abyss.

When I finally opened my eyes, I was lying on the ground outside the mansion, the sun shining down on my face. I stumbled to my feet, shaken by the experience. I turned back to look at the mansion, but it was no longer there. In its place was a gaping hole in the ground, as if the mansion had been swallowed up by the earth.

To this day, I still don't know what horrors lay within the haunted mansion, or if the woman I encountered was real or a figment of my imagination. But one thing is for sure: I will never forget the terror that gripped me that day, and the sense that something malevolent was watching me from the shadows.

As I walked away, my heart racing and my mind reeling, I couldn't help but wonder about the other brave souls who had ventured into that haunted mansion. Had they met the same fate as I did? Or had they managed to escape unscathed? I shuddered at the thought of what could have happened to them and decided that it
