A Bird Whose Tears Can Heal the Wound

The Phoenix

By Emma AdePublished about a year ago 3 min read

You must have heard about the Phoenix before, one of the rarest, yet popular birds from ancient times that is known for its magical powers. It is believed to be immortal because it takes birth from its ashes. One other power it is believed to possess is the ability to self-heal with its tears.

Where Can You Find This Bird?

Phoenix is mentioned in myths, stories, legends, and folklore. It is part of the ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian legends. In recent times, the bird was featured in some Harry Potter movie series. Its magical powers were on display in several other movies and depicted in literature.

What Does Phoenix Looks Like?

It is described as a large and majestic bird characterized by a mix of red and orange bodies and majestic feathers bigger than most birds we see today. It is believed that the crest on its body is golden, while the wings are red. It has eyes that shine like the early morning sun. The bird is truly something extraordinary.

How Long Does the Phoenix Live at Once?

Phoenix has a lifespan that surpasses most other bird species. It is believed to be capable of living for hundreds of years, precisely between 300 and 700. History makes us know that the bird sets itself on fire when it gets old and it is reduced to ashes and in a while is reborn from those ashes.

The Symbol of Rebirth

Its ability to rise from its ashes is a symbol of rebirth, this is why legends place it on a high pedestal for its ability to regenerate- this is quite rare among creatures today.

It represents a New Start.

In folklore, legends, and myths, the Phoenix represents a new start. It is a bird that starts a new life from its destruction and then lives its life fully, only to repeat the process repeatedly.

Phoenix in the Greek Mythology

The bird was linked to the Sun god Apollo. The ancient Greeks believed that, like the sun, Phoenix would eventually die at dusk and be reborn at dawn.

Healing Wounds with Tears

As seen in some Harry Potter movies and from records from folklore, the tears of Phoenix can heal even the deepest wounds instantly.

A Song of Phoenix

Verse 1:

In the silence of the desert night,

I feel the fire deep inside,

From ashes cold, I come alive,

With wings of flame, I learn to fly.

A thousand years I slept away,

But now the dawn ignites my day,

Through storms and shadows, I ascend,

For every end is where I begin.

Chorus

I am the Phoenix, burning bright,

Through the dark, I bring the light,

From the embers I will rise,

To touch the sun and kiss the sky.

Oh, I am fire, I am free,

The flames of hope live on in me,

Through the ashes, I survive,

The Phoenix always comes alive.

Verse 2:

I’ve seen kingdoms rise and fall,

Watched the mighty lose it all,

But from the ruin, I am reborn,

In every dusk, there waits a dawn.

The past is dust beneath my wings,

But in my heart, the future sings,

A song of life that never fades,

A burning flame that won't betray.

Chorus

I am the Phoenix, burning bright,

Through the dark, I bring the light,

From the embers I will rise,

To touch the sun and kiss the sky.

Oh, I am fire, I am free,

The flames of hope live on in me,

Through the ashes, I survive,

The Phoenix always comes alive.

Bridge

Higher, higher, I soar above,

A symbol of eternal love,

Through every death, through every tear,

The Phoenix whispers, "I’m still here."

Chorus

I am the Phoenix, burning bright,

Through the dark, I bring the light,

From the embers I will rise,

To touch the sun and kiss the sky.

Oh, I am fire, I am free,

The flames of hope live on in me,

Through the ashes, I survive,

The Phoenix always comes alive.

Outro

In the end, there’s no goodbye,

For in the flames, we never die,

I am the Phoenix, watch me fly,

In every soul, the fire’s alive.
