If you are a parent, you know nothing is worse than your baby’s skin acting up. Your little one facing rashes and irritation just break your heart but there is not much to worry about because that’s one common problem during their infant years.
We have the perfect guide for you to follow if your baby has been troubled with all these rashes and skin irritation.
What causes rashes on a baby's skin?
1. Baby Acne
2. Diaper Rash
3. Heat rash
4. Sweating
5. Insect bites
6. Allergic reactions
Some of the natural ways to treat diaper rash are:
1. Coconut Oil: It is known for its anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, and is one of the most common treatments in children for diaper rash. Wash the bottom of your infant with hot water, then dry it with a fluffy towel. After washing your baby's feet, take half a tablespoon of coconut oil and add it on the affected area. Coconut oil can also help cure yeast diaper rash.
2. Oatmeal: Oatmeal is a tried and true antidote of baby diaper rash. It offers pain relief. You should take a spoonful of dry oatmeal and mix it with the bathwater. Make your baby sit in the bath for 5-10 minutes (hold him, if he's too young and can't balance himself), then pat his skin dry. Be careful and don't scratch because scratching just aggravates the problem.
3. Yoghurt/Curd: Plain yoghurt can be used to treat diaper rashes and inflammation (that means no added sugar or cornstarch). Apply a thick layer of yoghurt to the area affected by rash, and the rashes will disappear within a few days. Just like you can use diaper rash cream may be used for plain yoghurt. Using yoghurt at room temperature on the affected area and put on a diaper.
4. Aloe Vera Extract: If severe inflammation is accompanied by rashes in your baby's diaper, then use aloe vera gel. You can either use the fresh aloe vera gel or the powdered version-both are safe and will give your baby relief.
5. Epsom / Bath Salts: Epsom salt is known for its high levels of magnesium and for its anti-inflammatory effects. In warm bath water, combine half a cup of Epsom salt and let your baby soak in it for 10-15 minutes. Follow it up with a bath session and repeat that two to three days a week to keep the diaper rash epidemic at bay.
