Why is a Mother's love so important?

We love our mothers without question. But do we ever stop to think about why? Why do we love our mothers so much? Perhaps it is because they gave us life, or perhaps it’s because they sacrificed everything to raise us, but there’s no denying that a mother’s love means something special to us all. To celebrate this Mother’s Day, take the time to reflect on the importance of your mother in your life, all that she has given you, and the way her love has shaped you into the person you are today.

A daughter who lost her mother

Growing up without my mom has made me understand how special she was. Although I may not have known it, my mom was always there for me and supported me in ways that are hard to put into words.

She was an amazing woman and I’m thankful to have her as my role model for how to be strong, loving, and brave through life’s toughest moments. All kids need their mothers' love and support but having lost mine at such a young age gives me an even greater appreciation for her advice when I need it most.

My memories of her are priceless gifts—they keep her close even though we no longer share any physical space in our lives.

A son who lost his mother

In our society, most of us take it for granted that our mothers will be there to hold us, kiss us and tell us they love us. It takes a traumatic situation like my own to recognize just how precious that time we share can be.

I miss my mom every day and I would do anything to have her back with me but sometimes when I’m having a particularly hard day, it helps me see why she was so special.

I thought about what made her stand out from all of my friends’ moms as well as other moms in general and came up with 10 reasons why she was special.

My mom

When I was growing up, my mom would always be there for me when I needed her.

No matter what trouble I got into, or how much of a disaster any situation might have been, she was always ready with advice and support to get me through whatever happened.

She taught me everything from table manners to time management skills—and made sure to do it in such a way that I knew she loved me just as much as she loved her children.

No question having an amazing mom has played an instrumental role in making me who I am today!

What do you think makes mothers so special?

Mothers are not paid for their dedication, hard work, and unconditional love. We don't pay mothers to listen to their children or be there for them when they need it most.

Mothers sacrifice time with their loved ones and make it seem effortless. Mothers have an innate ability to provide unconditional love that many of us do not possess.

They take care of others' needs before they take care of themselves, and they always have our best interests at heart. They are true heroes in my eyes because they demonstrate selflessness daily without ever expecting anything in return.

Being a mother is tough, but every child should know how much his or her mom sacrifices to provide for them and give them everything they can to make sure that he or she has what he or she needs.

Why is a mother a hero?

A hero may save people, but that's not what makes them a hero. When an ordinary person steps up to help someone else, when they make time for friends and family, or when they go out of their way to offer assistance in times of need, that person becomes extraordinary in your eyes. That person becomes your hero. That person is your mother.

Some secrets I never tell my mom

1. I feel lost without her, it feels like my life goes haywire when she isn't around.

2. I cry at night because I miss her and want to be with her, even though she is only sleeping in another room.

3. Even though my mom isn't perfect, nothing compares to all of her imperfections because she has an angelic presence and looks out for me no matter what I do or say.

4. If I ask for help it seems as if I've never asked before, but I have and she does things in ways that make it seem like it's happening for the first time

What is the most important role of a mother?

A mother plays many roles, such as teacher, caretaker, confidante, and friend. But perhaps most importantly, she loves her children unconditionally.

Kids growing up with loving mothers feel safe and secure and are often able to grow into independent adults who can take on life’s challenges without fear of failure. A mother understands that her actions have long-term impacts on her children—for better or worse—and takes great care in making those actions positive.

After all, there’s nothing more important than passing your beliefs onto your kids through example and teaching them what they need to know to succeed in life.

Why is a mother's love so important?

Mothers' unconditional love isn't limited to just their biological children, either.

Throughout history, mothers have shown their unconditional love for children who aren't even their own. This type of selfless and courageous act not only speaks volumes about a mother's true character but also about her ability to empathize with others and recognize when another person needs help.

While you may sometimes take your mom for granted (as we all do from time to time), there are plenty of reasons why she has been called the world's most precious gift.

From letting us cry on her shoulder whenever we need it to bail us out of jail when we get ourselves into trouble, moms can be relied upon in ways that go far beyond common human decency.
