Thousands of public sector workers have been granted permission to work from abroad to extend their holidays and visit their overseas partners.
Freedom of information from the government indicates that over 2,000 such permissions have been granted by various Quangos over the past five years. Transparency figures compiled by the Taxpayer Alliance show that Quanggokrat, so-called, works in Australia, Japan, and the Maldives.
ForQuango employees have been permitted to work from places like South Carolina and Ireland for all years. The Telegraph understands that ONS employees are not permitted to work abroad for personal reasons or have been found forever outside the UK, with exceptions being made rarely. A spokesman for ONS said: "ONS employees represent the UK, the International Statistics Agency, and support the development of the UK government overseas.

UK Sport, which invests in UK athletes, ranks fourth in 225 approvals for working from abroad, but this may be necessary to fulfill their obligations.
