Wedding Car Accident

While many might see an accident as a setback, Marisa and Kelmer viewed it as a chance for a memorable photoshoot. Fortunately, there were no injuries, so they used the crash site as a backdrop for what is likely to be the most distinctive wedding album in Minas Gerais.

Bored Panda reached out to Marisa for the full scoop. She shared, “We had just finished our civil wedding ceremony and were on our way to a farm hotel about 70 km from Uberlândia. At the last minute, the photographer changed and invited my cousin to join us. I had mentioned wanting some creative photos, but I never expected this! (laughs)”

Marisa also noted, “Since we plan to have a religious wedding later, we wanted to capture some pictures at the civil ceremony in a nice spot. And what’s even more amusing is that I'm an agronomist, and the rollover happened right in a soybean field!”

The couple was in high spirits, celebrating their wedding day, when things took an unexpected turn. We asked how they felt in the moments right after the accident and how humor played a role in their response. Marisa explained, “Initially, we were all in shock, but my cousin tends to get nervous and starts laughing. So she giggled, and since we were all fine—thank God—everything felt lighter. We got out of the car, laughing and taking it all in stride." And that’s exactly what we did.”

After their courthouse ceremony, they had planned to head to a venue for a longer photoshoot, but the car flipped over on their way there. Thankfully, the outcome was miraculous—no one was hurt. Despite the chaos, they chose to celebrate. Marisa said, “Having insurance and knowing everyone was okay made it relatively easy to move on. Honestly, it didn’t ruin our day at all. We just had to call the insurance and keep to our plan. I wasn’t going to let that accident spoil our happiness, especially since we had so much to celebrate! And I wasn’t expecting the universe to remind me so vividly of my agricultural roots—all in a soybean field!”

(laughs) “I love what I do, and the setting was just perfect for our photos."

Marisa and Kelmer turned a surprising situation into an opportunity for creativity, laughing and feeling relieved as they created what’s likely to be the most unusual wedding album in Minas Gerais.

The response to the video they posted has been overwhelmingly positive, with tons of kind messages. Marisa hopes their experience encourages others to tackle problems with a lighter heart and appreciate the lessons that challenges can bring.

It’s even more fitting that all of this unfolded in a soybean field since she’s a professional agronomist. She remarked, “It was like the universe was nudging me about how much I love my profession! That soybean field made the ideal backdrop for our photos.” In the end, the couple didn’t let the accident overshadow their big day. Marisa finished with a laugh, “We’re just thankful everyone is okay. The rest? Just a funny story to tell—what a story it is!”
