The Story of Mom and Me
The Lessons of Love and Life from my Mother

Even in my vivid dreams when I sleep, I remember that night. 23 years ago on that November 13th.
That night I heard my mom for the first time outside of her womb born into this world through her.
“Mi Bebe..” “My baby..” “mi hijo” “my son..”
I heard as I felt her loving and soothing grace as she held me in her arms as the cord that bonded my life with hers. The string of life that was now cut so I can held by her as she cried with joy but also relief that her only son was now here in her arms. Healthy, alive, and safe her thoughts must as been as she caressed my face and head while I cried but suddenly at ease as I felt her loving hands and fingers touch my skin. Assuring me that mama is here and that she welcomes me into the world with my father and sisters beside my father waiting eagerly to see the newest addition to our family.
That dream, those memories, the words I hear from my mother describing how she felt about finally giving birth to me and the thoughts and emotions she felt all while in labor and pain as a mother she endured to bring me into this world. Taught me a very special lesson.
Never, and I mean NEVER, Take your mother and father for granted. She gives and gave you everything to grow, she and your father live on through you long after their gone. She takes apart pieces of herself to help build you grow. She uses her time to be there for you as your mother and her child. She watches you grow and intervenes when she wants to you help because she loves you and wants you to grow beautifully.
Never feel that she doesn’t love you at all because it was her love that brought you into this world. She carried you and your siblings for 9 months dealing with difficult ordeals of pain, sickness and hardships to incubate the miracles that were growing inside her body. A mother’s love is the most precious gift and important feeling to have the most of all things offered to you.
Never resent or hate your mother regardless what happened, what drama you two have or had, what words you two might have said in anger during an argument, what things have been revealed and that one of you don’t agree with the other and what negative emotions you have towards each other because remember she brought you in the world to love you and be there for you as a parent but also one of the first people in your life who already love you.
But most of all, NEVER! EVER! And I mean EVER! Ever stop loving your mother. Be there for her when she’s around you. Send her a text or even give a small conversation on the phone wherever you are to let her know you love her, that you thought of her and check on her well-being but mostly to assure her your okay and that she can rest and not stress about you if your in trouble and give her that peace towards her mind that her baby is in good hands and is safe.
A mother in your life, is irreplaceable.
You were born through her and will always have that special bond blessed by the heavens and the universe. Always love and honor your mother. You’ll never know how much time has past of what could have been with the special bond with you and her until she’s gone.
