The Safest Christmas Getaway in 2020 is a Winter Staycation
The motto of these holidays will be taking precautions to take care of your health.

Before the coronavirus pandemic forever changed our lives, the arrival of autumn was the season when we all began planning our Christmas holidays. I remember those days when it didn't matter if our loved ones had to cross borders. Before 2020 our health wasn't at risk, and we could all be together and share a lovely Christmas dinner and a fun New Year's Eve party.
This year the experts recommend that for our safety, we should avoid family gatherings because the risks of transmission are very high. Make small family events to keep these holidays as healthy as possible for all. It would be safer if they were people already in your "bubble." Try not to fly to family celebrations this season. Wear a mask among people you're not living with, and wear one indoors at all times. Epidemiology experts said that by following proper steps, we could avoid the overloading of hospitals during the flu season.
Have a Winter Vacation at Home
The motto of these holidays will be taking precautions to take care of your health. By choosing not to travel, you take care of your physical health, but what do we do to safeguard our mental health?
You've been dealing with pandemic stressors all through 2020, and it's time to take some time off. A winter staycation is a perfect plan to relax safely on your holidays. Your mental health will benefit just as much as your typical vacation.
Stay at home, and enjoy real-time off, clear your schedule of your usual responsibilities for a bit. Avoid reading your mail and silence notifications for social media and news updates when your staycation starts. Before you start preparing for your winter vacation, I suggest that you first decide your primary goal. Maybe you want to pamper yourself and chill, or you want to have days with exciting and active things to do.
Schedule a stay in the nearby mountains or on the beach could be a good idea too. You could stay in a luxurious cabin admiring the mountains or maybe in a charming beachfront rental. Consider towns close to home so you can reach your destination by car. Car travel is the safest means of transport at this time.
Whatever you decide to do, make sure to look for outdoor activities, which will help you clear your mind, and you will have your daily dose of physical exercise. In the morning, you can hike, have a picnic in the afternoon, and have a tree lighting event at night.
Schedule a Virtual Christmas Party
Currently, WiFi is the table where we can share, and cell phones are the seats that each guest occupies to enjoy dinner parties. Today we call them virtual parties where we have fun together, but separately. Plan an excellent menu featuring food, beverages, and dessert. Share a Spotify playlist to create a happy Christmas environment. With all these details ready, it will only be a matter of joining a meeting all together on this Christmas eve. Another good idea, I believe, would be to arrange a Zoom party to open presents and share lovely Christmas times.
While these holidays are going to be different from what we've seen before, it doesn't mean it Christmas is going to have to be sad or dull. You have an excellent opportunity to try different ways to celebrate. Be imaginative, but most importantly, be careful and away from the crowds, and make sure you take safety precautions and social distances at all times.
