Modern Satire

By Distinguished Honorary Alumni Dr. Matthew PrimousPublished 5 months ago 3 min read

I want you to go higher. I want you to go deeper. I want you to meet your destiny. I want you to know love. I want you to be something Church. There are times you are gonna be tested. There are times you are gonna be tried. Tried even on every side. And nobody oh nobody can see you through but Him. And the church clapped their hands and shouted. I mean there where times that I did not think I could make it. There were times that I could not pass the test but He did it for me. Times where I could not go on but I found the strength in Him. And that is what he would do for you. And everyone said Amen. And Pastor Judge was right at the door of the church shaking hands and encouraging each member. And then there was this man, this young man that called Pastor Judge mother and she honestly did not know him. Junior was his name. He kept calling her mother and the deacons escorted him out of the church. And Pastor Judge was troubled that this young man kept calling her his mother. And the Head Deacon asked the Pastor if they should press charges and she said no, the Spirit did not tell him if I should. I honestly don't know the man. I never met him before. And Pastor Judge put together her hands to pray at her office's desk. And the Head Deacon left. Then Pastor Judge prepared for another sermon. And she was writing about love and she was into it as a deacon knock. She kept on because she was into the writing. And he kept trying to interrupt because the church needed to close. It was late. And she said as she took off her glasses, Even if you have the voice of an angel, even if you move mountains without love it is meaningless. Then she questioned the deacon and he could not answer so he just walk away. And she said Because I love this church. I love my work. I love the Lord that is why I must stay. And she eventually left before the deacons left. And a young man called to her again. And she cried but she did not know why. She thought but could not understand. And he kept saying Mom. Then she just left because she did not know what to do saying I am not your mother. The deacon drove Pastor Judge home. And he repeated halfway through the drive, even if you have the voice of an angel, even if you move a mountain without love it is meaningless. Then he pull into her driveway saying Pastor you are missing something, that is all I am saying. And Pastor Judge said I get it ok, Thank you Deacon. So Pastor Judge went into the sidedoor, walk up the steps and got into her house safely. And the deacon drove away. That night the voice of the young man Junior echo through her heart and mind. It echo through her soul. And she read 2 Corinthians again and again. And then she finally broke down and said Father what am I missing? Show me. And she got up stairs in her house and went to bed. And she dreamed of that young man but he was a boy. And she went through all her life wondering. And then she woke up. And she called deacon and said that's my baby, that's my boy. I thought he was dead. I thought I aborted him but I did not. It was a longtime ago. I thought he was dead. So fourteen days went by, then weeks. And the young man came again at the end of service, and Pastor Judge said Even if you have the voice of an angel, even if you move a mountain without love it is meaningless. Junior you are my son. I don't know how. I don't know why but you are my son. God said you are my son. And he said you paid for me Mom. You paid for my care. You paid for my education. You gave your hard earning money just so I could be safe. And you did it at no charge. I love you Mom. And Pastor Judge shocked as Junior hugged her. And the church applauded. Pastor Judge made him a minister at Love Community Church.
