The Little Star’s Sleepy Night
A Bedtime Rhyme for Dreamers Big and Small A few fluffy clouds drift lazily near the title, and small sparkles dance between the letters, giving it a magical, softly glowing effect. The entire image feels like a warm hug on a cool night — comforting, calming, and full of gentle wonder.
The Little Star’s Sleepy Night
(A Bedtime Rhyme)
High in the sky where the soft night winds blow,
A tiny star twinkled with silvery glow.
Her name was Luma, the smallest of all,
She danced with the night and answered each call.
She shimmered and sparkled, she twirled in delight,
A gentle companion to travelers at night.
And when children whispered their wishes in bed,
She’d listen so closely to all that they said.
"I wish for a puppy, a friend I can keep,"
"I wish for good dreams when I drift off to sleep,"
"I wish I could visit my grandma so dear,"
Luma would twinkle to show she could hear.
But one quiet evening, as stars took their place,
A strange little feeling crept over her face.
Her shimmer was fading, her glow wasn’t bright,
No matter how hard she tried with her might.
“Oh no,” Luma sighed as she flickered and spun,
“I’ve lost all my sparkle — what will I have done?
What if a wish comes and I’m much too dim,
Too sleepy, too tired, too hazy and grim?”
To Orion she flew with a wobble and shake,
The wise star whose belt shone above the dark lake.
“Dear Orion,” she called, “can you help me tonight?
I’ve lost all my sparkle, I’m missing my light.”
Old Orion just chuckled, his glow calm and deep,
“Even stars, little Luma, must sometimes just sleep.
The world keeps on turning, the night will still fall,
A rest now and then is no trouble at all.”
“But what about wishes? The ones meant for me?”
“They’ll wait,” he assured, “for you’ll shine soon, you’ll see.”
So off Luma floated to visit the Moon,
Who hummed to the sky a soft lullaby tune.
“Oh, Moon,” Luma sniffled, “I’ve lost all my gleam,
I feel like a shadow inside of a dream.”
The Moon smiled gently and opened her light,
“You’ve sparkled so long, dear, you’ve earned rest tonight.
Come rest in my glow, let the night cradle you,
Your sparkle will shine again, fresh and anew.”
So Luma curled up in a silvery beam,
And drifted to sleep in a soft, glowing dream.
The stars all around her kept twinkling bright,
Protecting the sky through the length of the night.
The wind sang a lullaby, breezes blew sweet,
While Luma lay resting, so peaceful, complete.
And when she awoke with the new break of dawn,
Her sparkle had tripled, her dullness was gone.
“Oh my!” Luma cheered as she twirled in the sky,
“I feel like I’m glowing! I’m sparkling so high!”
The Moon softly laughed, “See, it’s true as can be,
A rest now and then makes you shine brilliantly.”
And so from that night, when the sky turns to blue,
And stars blink above in a shimmering hue,
Remember that even the brightest of lights
Need gentle, soft pauses to brighten their nights.
So close your sweet eyes, let your worries take flight,
The stars and dear Luma will guard you tonight.
For dreams need their rest and hearts need their sleep,
To sparkle tomorrow, to laugh, love, and leap.
