The Brave Little Seed
How a tiny seed grew into a mighty tree by believing in itself

In a quiet valley nestled between two mighty mountains, there lived a community of seeds in the heart of an old, wise oak tree. Each seed was waiting for its turn to fall to the earth, sprout, and grow into a magnificent tree.
Among them was a tiny seed named Siri. Unlike the other seeds, Siri was small and not very confident. The other seeds often mocked her size and whispered, “She’ll never grow into anything special.” Even the wind seemed to ignore her when it came to carrying seeds away for planting.
But Siri wasn’t discouraged. Every night, she gazed up through the branches at the stars and dreamed of becoming a tall, strong tree. She listened to the stories told by the breeze about forests far beyond the valley, about trees that reached the sky, sheltered animals, and stood proud for centuries. Siri dreamed of being one of them.
One autumn morning, the wind came rushing through the valley. It was time. Seeds began to fall and float on the breeze, each dancing its way to the ground. Siri waited eagerly, but the wind didn't seem to notice her.
Then, a gentle gust lifted her lightly off the branch—just for a moment—and she drifted downward, not far like the others, but enough to land softly in a patch of dry, rocky soil, far from the rich meadow where most other seeds had fallen.
“This can’t be the right place,” Siri whispered. “This soil is too dry, the sun is too harsh, and the rocks are too sharp. How can anything grow here?”
But there was no one to answer her. Days turned into weeks. Rain was scarce, and the earth around her was hard. Some days, Siri wondered if the other seeds were right—maybe she was too small, too weak, too late.
Still, something inside her whispered, Keep trying.
So Siri pushed a tiny root down, just a little. She soaked up every drop of dew that fell in the early morning. When the sun scorched her patch of ground, she reached her root deeper into the soil, searching for cooler earth. Slowly, steadily, she grew.
Meanwhile, in the lush meadow, many of the other seeds had sprouted quickly, but their comfort had made them lazy. Some were eaten by birds. Others, crowded by competition, withered in the shade of faster-growing neighbors. Very few managed to grow tall.
Back on her rocky patch, Siri had no competition. Her roots had learned to stretch deep. Her stem was strong from standing against wind and sun. She had become resilient without even knowing it.
Seasons passed. Siri grew taller and taller. Her leaves reached out to the sunlight with joy. Her bark thickened, her roots spread wide, and one spring morning, a young bird landed on her branch and chirped happily.
“Wow,” the bird said, looking around. “You’re the only tree around here. It’s like you made a forest where there was none.”
Siri smiled. “I just did my best to grow.”
Years rolled by. Siri, the once-tiny seed, had become a mighty tree. Animals came to rest in her shade. Birds built nests in her branches. Children played beneath her in the summer, and during winter, she stood strong, guarding the rocky hill with grace.
One day, an old squirrel passing through the valley told a group of young seeds resting nearby, “That tree up there? She wasn’t planted in soft soil or pampered by the rain. She grew strong because she faced challenges and never gave up. She’s a legend in these parts—the brave little seed who became a great tree.”
And so, Siri’s story was told again and again to new seeds across the valley, not because she was the biggest or fastest to grow—but because she never stopped believing in herself, even when no one else did.
