Thanksgiving weekend, three sisters with their kids and husbands head out of town . They rented a beautiful farm house for the festivities And have all the food needed for an amazing feast. Once they arrive , they pass through a small town .All the streets are decorated as if they were in a hallmark movie. The pumpkins , sunflower bouquets and a beautiful smell of fresh baked apple pie filled the streets .They pull up to the house and it’s breath taking , the beautiful maple trees dressed in their best fall colours are dancing in the light crisp autumn wind. The men unpack the car whilst the kids are playing in the leafs , the sisters head into the house and crack open a bottle of wine . They prepare the turkey and stuffing and put it in the oven and start the timer . Sitting on the porch swing, the sisters admire their kids and husbands in a distance playing and laughing . They decide to visit a pumpkin patch nearby and grab a couple for the kids to carve . Once they finish the carving they put little lights inside the pumpkins that will light up once the sun goes down .
The wind had started to pick up as dinner time was approaching and one particular gust of wind was strong enough to leave them without power . They went to go check on the beast and it was still raw , they decide to wait an hour to see if the power might come back . Unfortunately, it doesn’t and the beautiful sunset takes place in the pumpkin field . Stomachs are gargling , they notice that the town lights are still on . They put the kids in the cars and go look for a place to eat . They stumble upon a diner that is beautifully decorated and on the front window you can read ; Fall menu : thanksgiving dinner 24/7 . It was just what they were looking for . Their was something about that night that made everything seem like their was magic taking place .
The diner was owned by a beautiful old couple and they were the ones working that night . The diner had no one else than the three sisters and their families . As they ordered the thanksgiving menu they made sure to order two extra plates . The old lady seemed puzzled about it but ordered them to the kitchen . When all the plates arrived , the sisters put the two extra plates one next to each other and told the couple to come eat with them. They refused at first as they didn’t want to bother them . All assured them that they were no bother and that everyone should celebrate thanksgiving together . The couple with tears in their eyes sat down and everyone took turns on saying what they were grateful for . Little did they know the old couple had lost their only daughter in a car accident the thanksgiving before . The diner had become their escape to the grief they had .
If you were passing by walking in the street that night, you would of seen through the glass window a gathering of families and strangers . Laughing and eating and just enjoying each other’s company .
After filling up their belly’s they helped the old couple with the dishes . Some of the younger children had fallen asleep on the booths . Once everything was clean , they brought the children in the cars and they drove back to the farm house . The lights we’re on and the porch was illuminated by all the pumpkins they had carved . One of the sisters smirked .She knew that life wanted them to go that diner and break bread with that beautiful couple .
Life is about the magic moments and the time you share with others . Enjoy it every step of the way .
