It is difficult to make repairs without painting the surfaces. It may be necessary to completely transform the work or slightly update the walls, floor, wallpaper, baseboards. There are many options. But only the majority of people absolutely do not want to use standard paint for this. If you are also one of those who can be dissuaded from starting repairs by the upcoming application of conventional paint on surfaces, read carefully how spray paint can be used in everyday life, what it is and what features it has.

Spray paint for home: advantages

Spray paint is becoming increasingly popular. This is largely due to its ease of use. This is its undeniable advantage. It is enough to shake the purchased can, remove the cap and get to work. There is no other way to work with such paint. We offer it in spray cans, and it has a lot of advantages. Foremost, let us note

  • no need to dilute or mix
  • colors versatility
  • resistance to environmental factors
  • UV resistance
  • ease of painting the most difficult places in terms of accessibility
  • super-adhesion.

It is very advantageous that the remaining paint will not harden or deteriorate. It will be possible to paint with it further, if necessary. No additional tools are required. It is simply sprayed onto the surfaces to be painted.

Application and technology of spray-painting

Let's start with the peculiarities of using spray paint. It is suitable for wood, metal, concrete, plastic. etc. At the same time, it can be applied to the entire surface, or it can be used for partial decoration. Even for cars, such miracle paints are suitable. The adhesion of aerosol formulations is excellent. The paint is absorbed into the surface almost instantly.

The painting technology includes stages from the preparation of the surface to be treated to the correct application of the selected paint option. If we take it step by step, it goes like this:

  • cleaning. The surface to be painted must be clean and dry. Remove any rust, grease, dust, etc. with an approved detergent;
  • sanding. Sandpaper can be used to remove any remaining irregularities that may be visible after painting. It will remove old coatings and even rust;
  • degreasing. To remove dirt residues, use a special agent or alcohol;
  • preparation of the composition. Before applying the paint, shake it well (up to 2 minutes). This will help to distribute the pigments properly;
  • checking. On a small “trial” area, you can conduct “testing” to make sure that the paint will adhere to this material properly;
  • application. Spray the composition from a distance of about 30 cm to the surface. It is not necessary to reduce the specified distance in order not to provoke the accumulation of the coloring composition, as well as the appearance of drops due to this.

Keep in mind that the movements during application should be uniform and fairly fast. It doesn't matter if you do it vertically or horizontally. The main thing is not to stay in a particular place, but to work immediately on the surface. It is better to have several layers. It is better to spend time on intermediate drying than to apply too thickly at once and leave streaks.

The layer dries up to 30 minutes. It depends on the conditions and the paint itself. In general, the entire surface can be dried in up to a day after completion of the work. Sometimes, after drying, you can additionally apply a varnish to the painted surface. This will add shine and protect the surface from some external factors.

Perform painting either in the air or in conditions of good ventilation. Glasses, a mask and gloves will not be superfluous.

What kind of spray paints can you choose

Spray paint is becoming more and more common for organizing furniture and other items in an existing interior. Also used are compositions for glass, brick, concrete, rubber, etc. The compositions are also ideal for rust. Moreover, no preliminary surface preparation is required. Safe and convenient spraying can be done with sprays with:

  • fluorescent and luminous formulations;
  • sprays with pearlescence;
  • solutions with “chameleon”, “metallic” effects, etc;
  • compositions for coating such products, which will be subjected to severe temperature, mechanical and even chemical stress in the future.

To make it clearer, let's look at a few examples of how to use paint in cans.

How to paint furniture with spray paint

  • Furniture is painted with aerosol paint as follows:
  • The surface is cleaned and sanded to the maximum.
  • It is degreased (with a special agent or alcohol).
  • Other surfaces are protected with a film or paper.
  • The can is shaken for a couple of minutes.
  • Even spraying is carried out from 20 cm or slightly more. Thin layers are needed. Drying is required between them.
  • Finally, varnish is applied (if there is a need to additionally ensure the strength of the coating).

Spray-painting is simple, but requires accuracy to achieve a high-quality and durable result. Spray paint for products, textiles and other surfaces is incredibly convenient, practical and profitable.

And if you use your imagination, you can also use them to create a real gradient on the surface, to create an unusual pattern. In principle, with such a convenient option, any planned design will be within your reach.

How to paint toys, crafts and various textiles

Spray paint is suitable even for toys, crafts, and textiles. But it is important to consider a few of the following points before you start:

  • The type of fabric and material of the toy. Spray paint is fine for linen and cotton, but it does not adhere well to synthetics.
  • The importance of preparation. Everything must be dried and cleaned before painting. Always test on a small piece first. Do not start working on the entire surface at once.
  • Apply in thin layers. Make the coloring even.
  • Dry the finished product. If possible, do it with an iron through an additional layer of fabric. This way the paint will be better fixed.

Plastic and wooden modern toys are painted simply by spraying paint on their surface. By the way, it's not bad fun. Just make sure the composition is safe, and then get to work right away. We have described how to do it step by step. We wish you perfect results!
