Should it Have to Take a Tragedy to Bring a Family Together?
The wisdom of treasuring loved ones before it's too late

To anyone who’s paying attention to world events in 2026, it's clear to see we're on a path of destruction. From chaos to catastrophe, events are wildly spiraling out of control.
With conditions the way they are, and life being short like it is; there's much wisdom and satisfaction to be enjoyed, when we learn to treasure our loved ones before it's too late
Losing Focus on Family
Honest hearted people with good values and who care about life have become broken in spirit. The stress is overwhelming, as we fearfully watch social, economical, and political structures continue to deteriorate.
Broken spirits make it easy to take family and loved ones for granted. There's too many other things that are usually more pressing to be focused on.
Hatred, wars, threat of wars, and political madness are just a tip of the iceberg, resulting in continued social unrest - on a large and smaller scale.
It's no wonder why the chance of experiencing some kind of personal or family tragedy is more probable than possible?
Once upon a time, it was rare for the average person to know someone who suffered a loss that wasn't accident related or due to medical conditions.
Not so in today's world.
Sadly, it's become commonplace to personally know someone or know of someone, who has suffered a tragedy, even as a victim of abuse or violent crime.
If ever there was a time that families and loved ones should draw closer together, this is it!
Unfortunately, humankind has the tendency not to truly appreciate what we have until after we don’t have it anymore.
Not because we don't love or care about our families and friends.
But because our thoughts are so plagued with bills, debt, unemployment, work politics, discrimination, racial injustice, not to mention keeping food on the table.
As human beings, we constantly confront problems and challenges related to trying to navigate our own lives and personal relationships.
It's not uncommon to have the feelings and affection we mean to show those we love, somehow get lost in the wash.
If you’re like most people in the world, there are times where you take family members for granted.
We fail to stop and consider just how short life really is, or that tragic and unforeseen circumstances can happen in a flash.
With the world continuing to create scenarios where tragedy becomes more and more probable, it’s more important than ever, that people not lose focus of what's most important. Family and those you love.
Final Thoughts
It goes without saying, that those we call or refer to as family, are not just those individuals related to us by blood. The word family is meant to include all those you love and hold dear.
That means we must remember to reach out and make time for family members both near and far.
Besides calling and interacting with parents or siblings who live close by, refocusing on family during these turbulent times should also include reaching out of state if necessary.
Make it your goal to draw closer to love ones, whether through family gatherings and events, or simply getting together with different members, one-on-one (in person or virtually).
Remember that family is important, even when they're chaotic, or happen to be splintered in various ways.
Believe it or not, it's actually the norm, to have families where there is at least one or more relatives who have been estranged for some reason.
Does your family have this kind of drama? Well so what.
When you look at the larger scale of problems going on in the world, suddenly your family drama may not seem as serious as you once believed.
Let’s face it, everyone thinks their family is bonkers. In one way or another, there is always going to be some kind of family drama.
But anytime you're able to, we should try our best to appreciate the relationships we have, because we never know when or how they could abruptly end.
