Safety Measures for Parents Who Want to Protect Their Children from Accidents
Protecting your kid is important
When we talk about the prevention of accidents in young children, we can not talk about it as a parental obligation, but rather about increased attention from all points of view, especially since the parents are the first child.
We know all too well that when it comes to young children, the increased attention in their first years of life is more than recommended because the little one cannot protect himself. After all, he is prone to accidents or incidents.
Unfortunately, parents nowadays are more and more negligent, especially since they have an exhausting jobs, but the alternatives have remained the same. For example, parents may seek the help of grandparents or, why not, the help of a babysitter.
In the latter case, an even greater precaution is indicated, as most of the nannies have no education in the field and have no experience in caring for young children.
However, the prevention of accidents in young children should not crystallize in constant fear of parents, because, in the end, it will only be an obsession with serious repercussions, such as, for example, even the injury of the child. That is why both doctors and psychologists recommend that parents ask for the help of a close person, whom they trust and, of course, a person who has taken care of other children, respectively experienced.
The first moment that is considered the most difficult for both parents is, without a doubt, the bathing of the baby. Given that the little one has an extremely vulnerable body, it is difficult, at least for inexperienced parents, to bathe him properly. Of course, we will think that when it comes to a child, there is no question of such technical details, but there is a great need for them. In other words, the little one must be properly bathed.
Usually, the parents ask for the help of the grandparents, in case they still have the skill to bathe the child or the help of a specialized person. The latter person only comes to bathe the baby for the first time, and the parents must finally learn how to proceed in the future.
We will not advise in this regard, as it can be confusing for any child. It is even contraindicated for parents to venture alone to bathe the child, only based on information read or heard.
That is why we recommend, first of all, that the parents bathe the child with the help of an experienced person. We must not omit if we are still talking about the prevention of accidents among young children, that if the bathing is not done correctly, quite serious accidents can occur.
Moreover, the child has a fragile body and if not properly bathed, the consequences can be, unfortunately, if not serious, quite traumatic for the baby, and especially for the new parents. Finally, as in the literature, the first years of a baby's life must be beautiful for both him and his parents. As long as everything is done properly, there is no reason to be afraid.
On the other hand, we must not forget that most accidents in young children occur, unfortunately, after the first years of life. For example, the child is prone to accidents or incidents, after becoming active, ie he starts to walk, talk, respectively socialize and want to play with other children his age.
Parental attention should be involved here, but it should not be excessive or obsessive. Excessive manifestation is, of course, also restrictive for the child, which can affect him in the long run.
For example, a 2–the 3-year-old child has to socialize, play and even spend a lot of time outdoors. Most parents imagine that in the open spaces (parks, playgrounds, etc., etc.), the most common accidents occur. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Most of the accidents take place in the house, so you have to watch the little one not climb on a chair or a high body in the house or try to play with objects that could injure him.
Drawing attention to these things is not enough, the child must be, clearly, and beautifully explained why he is not allowed, whenever he asks or is about to do what is forbidden. Here, the power of persuasion is not enough either, the parents have to create all the optimal conditions so that the little one is not involved in any incident.
However, the prevention of accidents, whether we refer to accidents in the open air or an enclosed space, should not be followed by exaggerations, but only by increased care, somehow at a distance, in such a way that it is not suffocating for the child.
There is no question of a constant thought in this regard, because, as a rule, parents develop a kind of sixth sense that helps them to take care of their children.
The only thing they should keep in mind, according to the advice of psychologists, is that the prevention of accidents in young children is done through increased attention and, at the same time, through the explanations given to the little one, but also by creating an environment conducive to child development. suitably.
