Reviewing "Uncle" book on Amazon

If you're new to being an aunt or uncle, Will Murray's Uncle book is a great guide for how to have fun with the kids. It will help you become the a fun aunt or uncle but won't teach your other aspects of uncling.
This book celebrates the role of aunts and uncles in their nieces and nephews' lives. It's full of fun activities to entertain and help your nieces and nephews grow. You can bake cookies, go on adventures, or make crafts together or say knock knock jokes.

"Uncle: The Definitive Guide for Becoming the World’s Greatest Aunt or Uncle" is a must-have for uncles and aunts. It helps you make a big, lasting impact on your nieces and nephews. Written by Will Murray, it's packed with tens of fun activities for making memories with your young relatives.
Mr. Will categorizes kids’ lives into 9 aspects that you can play a role in:
1. Travelling – kids get bored sitting in a car. You can liven up their travel.
2. Food – kids are often hungry and need refueling. Make breakfast fun for them. You can have fun with food without wasting it. For example. Eat corn on the cob or orange peel then smile with food in your teeth. Your nephew can help in the kitchen by making popcorn or they can hide under the table for when someone returns. Share fun facts about food such as tomatoes are actually fruits.
3. Words – as kids learn words you can make it fun with puns, jokes, and wordplay. When you see a sign that says “slow children at play” you can comment that we can’t all be geniuses. When they are bored, simply play a word game, riddle, or tell a story/joke. Goof around in a pretend microphone. Or use figures of speech like “from the get-go” and twist it to “from the gecko”. You can do the opposite with a silence contest. Lookup dad jokes on tiktok or facebook. You can also be a little annoying and repeat everything they say or ask “why” to anything they say. Why not invent a big deal secret and make them promise not to tell anyone then tell them in private that “tomorrow is Wednesday. Guard it with your life.”. Use an invisible volume nob to speak louder or snore loudly. Play Hangman word game.
4. Animals – kids learn to tell things apart by first telling animals apart. Animals can be fascinating for kids but make sure you guide them on proper and gentle handling. A game you can play is mimicking animal noises. Start with chickens, cats and frogs. Show them compassion to insects by taking them outside instead of killing them in the house. Watch a cute animal show on Netflix together or go to the zoo. You can play with a feather and look at it under a magnifying glass. The point here is to educate them to be humane to animals and to know them apart.
5. Special days – holidays and birthdays can be made more special by simply having the uncle show up. You can do a funny prank call (not cruel) on April Fool’s Day. Uncle Day is July 26th. Hot dog and ice cream day is July 23rd. On birthdays or even any day can be someone’s birthday, sing the song for fun. Increase the volume as you get to the end of it.
6. Things you must do – contests to see who can remain silent the longest is one example. Impersonate things or animals. Play finger detaching trick, give gifts, wear clothes backwards, or camp in the back yard in a tent overnight after dinner. When trying to decide what to do, why not draw a decision tree on a piece of paper. Play drums on pots and pans or other objects like watermelons or bins. Go fishing and throw stones in the water. Challenge them to impersonate something or pretend to be invisible. Teach them to tie different kinds of knots. Make checklists for what you will do in the next 20 minutes.
7. More ideas for fun things to do:
• Planned naps of no more than 20minutes
• Pick up litter from the street and toss it in a bin among other nice things for no reason.
• No seriousness for 20 minutes game. Anything not silly must be stopped.
8. Just hanging out – do memorable things. It is an art form. Even just helping in the kitchen. Laughter is contagious, do it and get everyone to laugh at nothing. This one is for you, the uncle, to learn how not to stress about your to-do list and projects. Learn to just hang out like kids do. Note that within 12 minutes, they need stimulation so be prepared to do things from the list above or invent small games. Like, playing with band-aids. Or double up a belt and snap them together for a loud popping sound. Play a game of clean-up by having a competition for the cleanest room. Show them antique items around the house like a polaroid camera or a film-camera (not digital) – anything you can find. Do some fun Instagram filters of your faces. Teach them how to do a proper handshake.
9. Toys, tricks and balloons – There is no need to buy toys. Just invent some. eg. How to launch a rubber band, build origami planes, turn a hollow vessel into a drum…etc. Look through a glass bottle or blow into it to make a ship’s whistle sound. Get soap and make soap bubbles or find some bubble wrap to pop. Get papers and make signs like ‘not adults allowed’ or ‘danger, don’t come in’. use coins as toys to make games or fine a cone to use as a megaphone. Use two cups and a wire to make a telephone. Make rubber band guns with your hands or use your hands to make upside down glasses on your face.
It doesn't matter if you're new or experienced in being an uncle or aunt. This guide gives you the advice, inspiration, and ideas you need.
The book is full of ideas but not much else.
