Parenting Isn't A Breeze
Are you a parent? What are your struggles?
As a mother and a father of a daughter (age 2 years and 9 months) and a son (age 4 months), we find it isn't easy all the time with all the day to day tasks that are involved in being a parent. Parenting isn't as easy as people can make it out to be. It can be tedious, exhausting, tiring and many more things. Parenting is a job that requires your attention 24/7, parenting is job where you realize sleeping isn't always on the agenda even when you are tired. How many hours of sleep did you complete last night? 1 hour? A full good 8 hours sleep? Or maybe none? Every child and every parent is different, every household has their own way about situations regarding things like, implementing time out or cleaning up after themselves, going to bed at a specific time, having naps through the day and so much more. Myself and my husband found it hard with the transition of having a newborn and a toddler, but the first maybe 2 weeks was a breeze and things were going great, apart from the exhaustion, lack of eating, showering and sleep. The nappy changing, the new clothes, the throw up, the screaming, the tantrums, bathing, the shit up the kids back, the toilet training, the cooking, the cleaning etc etc.... We managed to do what we had to for our children before thinking about ourselves, by the time we had the time to be able to do things for ourselves we were to exhausted to do the things we should have. Our spare time we choose to relax, catch our breaths again and spend some time together. Sometimes we would catch up on sleep, other times we would just watch netflix, or enjoy a nice hot coffee with a cigarette or maybe we would eat - everyday is never the same. As we said above, parenting isn't easy - we know that... BUT.... Would we change that? No we wouldn't change it for the world, because no matter how much parenting involves with being a maid, a nurse, a doormat, a sleep doctor, a laundromat, a dishwasher, a chef, a cleaner, a shopper, a bill payer, a nappy changer and everything else the role involves, at the end of the day it is rewarding. You ask why? As a parent it is rewarding because you brang that little human to earth side, you gave that little human life, you get to watch them grow, listen to them make new sounds or do new things, when they start crawling, or walking, or smiling, or laughing, the family trips you make that are FUN!
PARENTING IS WORTH IT, DON'T EVER DOUBT YOURSELF WE ALL HAVE A GOOD AND BAD DAYS. I DO NOT REGRET GIVING MY CHILDREN LIFE.
