My Family

I can honestly say that these three amazing ladies are my family.

Mrs. Cruse, My Mom, and I!

When I think of heroes, I think about people in my life who has helped me become the young lady I am today. They have helped me with being bullied, my confidence, and self esteem. They love all my flaws and love me just how I am. My local heroes are my Mother, Mrs. Cruse ( A Mentor ) and Ms. Alison ( my mentor ).

My Mother is one of my local heroes because she has helped and been there for me my entire life. She has strived to give me a better life than what she had growing up. Although my mom is a single parent that doesn’t have a lot of funds, she tries her best to make sure that I receive a good education, and that I’m surrounded by only positive people who can help me a long the way.

I watched my mom struggle many days, still she refused to give up. She always stress to me to show people respect, and the importance of having a education. Without her I would be lost and wouldn’t have the compassion that I have now. Another local here of mine, is Mrs. Cruse.

Mrs. Cruse actually is the one who told my mom about Be A Mentor. She doesn’t know it, but she helped saved me. A lot of times I was depressed from being bullied. However, Mrs. Cruse always saw the passionate and hardworking side of me. And has allowed me to be apart of so many life changing experiences that I’ll never forget. Mrs. Cruse took me to my first ever Annual Gala and my first Dock Street Theater! She has allowed me to be apart of an amazing girls group “The Leading Ladies”. In this group I built up my confidence, and learned how to interact with others. And last , but not least, I would like to add my mentor Ms. Allison as another local hero of mine.

Ms. Alison has taught me to love myself, and take life one a day at a time. She has shown and given me so much love, and support throughout many of my chapters in life. When it was my first day at Early College High School, I was nervous because I thought that everyone was already ahead of me. She sat me down and told me that everyone is on the same pace as me, and that we are all learning together. She also told me that people will love me for me and I don’t need to change for no one.

My Mother, Mrs. Cruse, and Ms. Alison are my local heroes because they believe in me and support me when no one else did. My mother teaches me the importance of education and tries to give me a better life. Mrs. Cruse gave me so many new opportunities, and has allowed me to be apart of an amazing group that makes me feel confident and loved. Ms. Alison has given me such awesome advice and shown me so much love, and support. All three of these beautiful amazing heroes of mine, and they love me for who I am. I’m so thankful and humbled that they’re apart of my life.

I could never ask for a better mother, or mentors because I have the best. All of them our truly role models. They have helped me achieve some goals with only words of encouragement. Without I don’t know where I would be today. I love them all and they really are a blessing to my life.
