T oppled over in Pain, Jade cried for her mom, her mother did not know what to do for her. All she could do was console her and rub her back and stroke her hair gently to bring her some comfort. Jade had been sick for quit sometime with a rare type of cancer. it sliced through her body like knives day in and day out she was in pain, barely able to eat barely able to walk, and it pained her mother to see her like this.

At night she would lay wide awake starring up at the ceiling wishing her time would come to an end on this earth. She felt like a burden to her mother, You see Jade's father had passed only when she was just a child. her mother had been doing everything on her own. She never remarried she never even went on dates she dedicated her whole life to her sick child. So when she became sick her mother poured all that she had unto finding a cure for the rare cancer that she has. From trial clinical medications to radiation treatments anything that would give her any glimmer of hope you name it she did it. There was nothing left all the money they had went to the hospital bills and medications to keep her alive.

Jade, would often over hear calls of her mother crying on the phone begging for more time, somehow her mother was making ends meet. she felt hopeless, she was such a burden on her mother and she could no longer bare the thought of being the source of her mothers pain. It was in this moment that Jade Decided to commit the ultimate sin of Suicide! she no longer wanted to hurt, she no longer wanted to be in pain, she no longer wanted her mother to bare the weight of caring for a sick daughter. It was decided.

As she laid in the bed looking at the sky blue ceilings she said a prayer. "Father God Please forgive me for what I am about to do". I can no longer be here. Please watch over my mother for me Amen. she was Frail and weak but she gathered the strength and put on her clothes. She tip toed out into the hallway and down the stairs and left out the back door. The night was cool and brisk and smelt of spring musk and rain. The cool night chilled her to the bones, she was shivering and shaking but she kept on trotting through the gate, she never even looked back once. She knew that this was something she had to do.

She decided that she would jump from the cliff that was at the end of the forest that led into the river, Jade was fearless and bold with her decision and it was no turning back. as she made her way through the forest tears streamed down her pale cheeks. She knew it would her her mother but she also knew that her mother wouldn't have to deal with the stress of her anymore. That she could go on living.

When she reached the end of the forest she was relieved, she could sit and gather her thoughts for a while. She sat at the edge of the cliff looked up into the night sky and made a wish, she wished for all to be forgiven and that she could finally be at peace. She stood up and closed her eyes and just when Jade was ready to jump she looked down and saw a Little black book with a piece of rope wrapped around it. The curiosity hit her so she bent down and picked it up, she removed the debris and the coiled rope and read what was inside.

"I hope this finds you well my friend its been awhile just know you matter" No matter what im always looking out for you" she felt strange reading this but some how she felt as if was meant for her. She flipped the page and she saw a beautiful colored drawing of a jade toned orchid. Next to it read the words "Orchids are beautiful but require patience to grow- Z". Her curiosity became stronger at this point. so she flipped to the next page.

"at the edge of this cliff there is a box if you can find me you can have what's inside". Do i really wanna know what's inside this box she thought to her self? I do she said aloud. Jade looked all around the edge of the cliff but still nothing un till she took a step forward and her foot slipped her frail body fell over but she managed to catch herself. that's when she saw it. A red aged tool box wedge between the rocks at the edge of the cliff.

Jade struggled a bit to pull it out but she managed. She took a deep breath and opened it, Her eyes grew big once she seen what was inside. Wads of cash. Thoughts of suicide no longer crossed her mind. she wondered whose was it should i turn it in. But the she remembered what that little black book said. If i find it i can keep what was inside. She felt a sense of relief take over her.

Jade out of breathe at this point sped walked home, with the book ant box in hand. she knew she wasn't going to be able to explain to her mom exactly where the money came from so she would let the book speak for her. when she arrived her mother was frantic.

Jade where the hell have you been, i was just going to call the police to go looking for you. what is wrong with you. Jade hugged her mom tight and said not all but some of our problems are solved. she gave her mother the Little Black Book to read. Puzzled and not understanding she read the book aloud. "listen ms lady i don't have no time for games what is this" she then handed her mother the rusty old red tool box. Look inside mom. She gave jade a stern look but went ahead and opened the box. She gasped, Jade where on earth did you get this, this looks about 20,000 doallars? Jade had explained to her mom why she went to the cliff at the edge of the forest. Her mother held her tight I love you my baby, you have never been a burden on me. You make me strong because you fight every day, so i fight too.

"Its been a year now since that day that little black book changed my life. im still sick but the treatment im on is helping a lot, Im not as frail and my mom was able to take care of a-lot of medical bills and start her own business" who ever you are thank you signed -J

Jade wrapped the little black book up and left it by the edge of the cliff. I hope this finds you well she said to herself.
