Inside the Walls: What Your Home Holds
A closer look at the everyday items that define us
There had to be other photos that would have been more appropriate for this article. But my splash one (even if it was good), and my rainbow one (even if it was good), were getting a little old, and I have used it for so many articles, it was time for a change. So here is the rose bush in my backyard. It is rather pretty too.
What This Article Is About
It is not about photo's. It is about the items in your home.
Will You Search In Your Home For An Item That Is Made In Your Country
This is as much a challenge as it is an article. I went searching for items that were made in the United States because:
I purchased a few T-shirts off the internet, and one read "American Made" and the other, "Made in the USA".
But when I got them, they had a label on them that said "Made in Honduras" so I called Amazona and they said "Made in the USA was a trademark. I told the gentlemen in customer service, it was deception. I fear at almost 70 years young, I have lost my filters.".
Therefore, I went searching for USA-made products. So far, I have not yet discovered any clothing products or linen products but food products only.
What I Did Find
I did find a Libman broom and dust pan that is made in the United States of America.
And I do know my Mohair Teddy Bears are made in the USA because I had them specially made from a crafter. If the materials are made in the USA, I have no idea.
I thought I had a great find, I just talked to my husband today and asked him to pay attention to the bright beautiful decorative thermometer on our living room wall and see where it was produced. It said "Made in the USA in 2013. But then I googled it and this is what came up:
AcruRite thermometers are manufactured and sold by US-based company Chaney Instrument Company but are produced primarily in China.".
Maybe You'll Be Luckier
Please look in your house for something made in your country, and then leave a comment of what it is and where you're from.
I'm Still Looking Around In My House
Upon inspecting our closets and our bureau droor, there is clothing and shoes from a lot of different countries, including China, Viet Nam, India and Honduras, Indonesia, Malaysia and a host of other countries, but nothing from the United States of America.
If You Are Trying To Work Out Why President Trump Is Doing What He Is Doing -Wonder No More
I do admit my closets did need cleaning out, though, but what I found is a case in point for what President Donald Trump is doing and saying.
Did you ever stop and consider what would we do if other countries stopped sending goods to the United States?
Perhaps Melania and Donald sifted through their wardrobes and perhaps what they came up with was absolutely frightening.
I Am Still Looking
You can't even count on a T-Shirt that has an American flag on it and says- Made in the USA - (It's a brand name they state). I refer to it as false advertising.
I Did Have Another Writer, who actually took up the challenge, search his house and found a broom and dust pan that was made right here in the USA. It was a Libman Broom, and what a find for a treasure it was.
I also found I had one, and a dust pan too, all made in the United States of America.
What's in Your Closet
I'm looking for items that are still manufactured in the United States.
Are We Losing Manufacturing or Just Giving It Away For Less Cost?
Will It Also Make Us Weaker in the World?
Leave a comment if there is an item manufactured in your country.
If you find something that is made in the United States, leave a comment and let me know what it is. I would go out and buy it or order it.
