A chocolate or a cigarette will do the job. Drug dealers are peddling teenagers with cheap drugs. With rigid controls in the West, the business is quickly shifting to third-world countries. Instead of costly heroin, brown sugar is being sold every nook and corner at cheap prices.
Drugs heal as well as destroy. Proper use gives therapeutic value. Drug abuse creates a lot of health and social problems. The use of cocaine leads to High Blood Pressure, Seizures, manic behavior, crimes, and even death. Once you are caught in the habit, it will be very difficult to come back. So, it is better to prevent it. Throughout the world, drugs are being abused and misused.

Taking drugs for reasons other than medical, in a quantity or manner which damages the physical and mental functioning. Most of the addicts start taking drugs out of curiosity to have some pleasure. Opium is obtained from this plant.
Morphine is produced by adding certain chemicals to Opium.
The powerful heroin is produced by adding more chemicals to Morphine.
Brown sugar is another drug prepared from Opium.

Ganja is prepared from the flowering top of the plant. The leaf of the plant is a drug known as Bhang. The third drug obtained from the plant is known as 'Hashis' or 'Charas
Coco Plant
The drug cocaine is got from the coco plant. A drug called 'crack is derived from cocaine.

- Unsteady gait/clumsy movement/tremors
- Reddening and puffiness of eyes, unclear vision

Penalty for violating laws relating to drugs of abuse
- Rigorous imprisonment for not less than 10 years, may extend up to 20 years and fine not less than Rs. one lakh or more.
- Maximum penalty Death without remission after the first conviction.
- Penalty for violating laws relating to "Ganja" rigorous imprisonment up to five years and a fine.
- Confiscation of Assets Assets bought through drugs money can be frozen or confiscated.
- License holders committing omissions/failures are liable to be punished.
- Consumption of narcotic drugs is also an offense. Offenders are liable to be punished with imprisonment from six months to one year.

- Communicate openly with your child. Be a patient listener.
- Keep yourself interested in your child's activities and friends.
- Share problems at home. Talk about your child's problems. Guide them to solve it.

As a Citizen
- Remain alert to people carrying narcotic drugs for sale.
- When you come across cannabis plants/crops or any violation of drug law, please inform the authorities.
- Offer advice to drug addicts regarding treatment and rehabilitation.
How to stop drugs in your community?
As Teenagers/Youth
- Ensure that you are not falling victim to drug abuse either through a friend or others.
- Help to ensure that drugs are not coming to your school.
- When suspicious about the drug or its users, please inform elders.
- Form vigilance cells in schools/colleges to fight drug abuse menace.
In many developing countries, drug addiction has become very common. Here, drug injecting means sharing injecting equipment. This carries a risk of HIV-AIDS, hepatitis, and other diseases infection. Crude estimates say that worldwide between 160,000 and 2,10,000 deaths every year are associated with drug abuse.
